Re: Belt broke on my model u5064-940 and need to replace...
Remove the bottom plate, then use a flat blade, from the bottom edge of the top cover, pry out to release the tabs and the top cover will come off( there maybe 2 screws form the bottom to remove). Then you can replace the belt.

Remove the base plate. It is held with screws accessible from under the unit.
Inside you will see the beater bar and the belt. Remove the beater bar. This is self explanatory once you see inside the power head. Remove the old belt.
Find a replacement from your local dealer or online.
You will need to look @ your owners manual to see where the self propell belt is located i am sure yours is broke and need to replace,- it will not be hard to replace-Lance
To my knowledge model F7220900 SteamVac doesn't require a belt. Are you sure that is your model? If you have a different Hoover model you can get a replacement belt here:
You probably should have replaced the flat belt(38528035) also. But the drive belt has a idler wheel(#13) to engage it, is it riding on the belt, if not if may have jammed to one side and able to spring up against the V belt. It could have broke also.
