I don't know which port in the back of the Pavilion to connect the black wire from the speakers (that connect to the right speaker with red and white ends). Any ideas? They are labeled as side, rear...

To get "surround" sound, when you face the computer, you will have:
* 2 front speakers, one immediately on each side of the computer
* 2 side speakers, one on each side of your head
* 2 rear speakers, one behind each side of your head

Thus, when the sound is of a jet-plane coming towards your face,
you'll first hear the sound in the front speakers,
then in the side speakers,
and finally in the rear speakers,
to produce a sound-effect of the jet passing over your head, and going "behind" you.

Usually, for "front" speakers, one speaker connects to the other speaker, and the second speaker connects to the "FRONT-audio-output" connector on your sound-card.

For side speakers, one speaker will connect to the LEFT-side-audio-output port,
and one speaker will connect to the RIGHT-side-audio-output port.

For rear speakers, one speaker will connect to the LEFT-rear-audio-output port,
and one speaker will connect to the RIGHT-rear-audio-output port.

The right side of the speaker is low, you can hear it but it's like there is no bass to it like the left side, sounds like the right side is like whispering to you but the left side is talking normally,...

If your subwoofer is placed to the left side try moving it to the right side or try to move it in the center. Otherwise if you are using a PC go to the control panel and click the sounds and audio devices icon. a little window will pop up and the button labeled speaker volum click on and reduce the volume for the left speaker and then turn up the volume on your speakers and see if that helps.

The left side main output won't put out any sound on my Denon AVR-900.

connect your right speaker cable to the left output, if the sound comes out then the problem is on the left speaker ( the cable or the speaker itself ), but if still no sound, then the problem is on the power output of the unit, need to repair them

No sound from the right speaker

Check the speaker if its okay, disconnect the left side one and connect the right side one and play. If it does not then the speaker is bad.

Both rear speakers on my z540 system play only the left side rear

Hmmm, this sounds like either a driver issue, or a card/compatibility issue. you might try reverting to old drivers(last resort), making shure you have 4.1 enabled in sound control pannel(do this first), triple checking connections/connectors on both the speakers and the card(remember, you only have 5 speakers, not 8) and if you have the headphone-type phone plug for your speakers, you might try making shure that they are compatible with the jacks on your card, although, I would have to know more about your setup to be completely shure.

Sound not coming from left side surround sound speaker or my right side front speaker

it is highly likely that you're TV is outputting mono sound, hence the left channel only. check your physical connections to the TV and the balance / channel volume on the television as well.
