A kicker 600.1 wired to a jl w7 10" sub? Will that work?

The kicker 600.1 provides 600 watts at 2 ohms and 300 watts at 4 ohms the 10" JL W7 has 2 1.5 ohm voice coils so you will have to wire them in series. Take about 1.5 feet of 14 gauge wire and connect the positive of one voice coil to the negative of the other then the positive and negative that are left go to the amp. Your impedance should be 3 ohms and that amp should work just fine.

Why does my jl audio w7 makes a popping noise when I turn up the bass

The w7 is not hooked up correctly if it’s popping.. 1 voice coil is not working if it’s popping. I would suggest checking wires again. A Wire may not be tight I hat to connect mine like the pic shows. This corrected my popping issues. I am using the jl HD.1200/1

I think its my voice coil but I might as well ask to make sure. At higher volumes, my W7 will make a wierd rattling sound from inside the sub. Is it the voice coil or something else?

tinsel lead on terminal needs to be coated with a layer of black rtv sealant where it comes out of voice coil on back of speaker temporary fix since you have OVERPLAYED your subs,

I have a kicker 12 xpl that wont play mabey blow how do your determan and can it be fixed I checked the connection the lead directly to speacker and the terminals ?

Here is one quick little way to test the speaker.
Disconnect the wires from the amp that go to the speaker and touch them to a 9 volt battery.
If the speaker moves and you hear a sound then it is NOT blown and if you hear nothing and it does not move then chances are you have a blown woofer.
There are of course other more technical ways to test it with a digital millimeter but the simple 9volt battery quick test is easiest.
If t he voice coil is shorted and blown then there is usually no way to fix that and you would have to replace the speaker. (Some speakers like JL Audio W7 series have removable voice coils that can be replaced but most speakers do not.)

Jl 13 w7 burnt voice coil

Nope!! I burnt up my 12W6 from supposedly under powering it. Your going to have to pay for a new coil if under factory warranty. Other wise ..... spent good money on a paper weight. Sorry for your loss, I know that I was pissed. :-(

JL audio hook up problems!!??

your w7 13's are dual 1.5 Ohm, but according to JL website, are 2.41 Ohms when the coils are in series. Each 13 connceted to each amp with voice coils in series is your best bet. The amps are designed to put out the same amount of power from 1.5 to 4 Ohms. If you parallel the voice coils, you end up with .6 Ohms and the amp will go into protect mode. You'll be drawing a lot of current, so you may want to think about 1/0 guage power wire, upgrade the wire from the alternator to battery (usually only 8 guage) and think about multiple batteries.
