Cd tray error Canon Pixma MP810

Some one else wrote:
My ip3000 cannon printer keeps coming up with an error when I try to print CDs. It say the inside try is open and I should remove the CD try, close the tray and press resume, problem is I want to print the CD on the tray!

I have the same problem with the Canon Pixma MP810. I put the CD tray in the front feed, change location to down below, and it gives an error that reads:
"inner cover open, close inner cover" which is how the cd tray fits in. If I close it then the cd tray will not feed. I am under a deadline, a super quick answer would be fantastic.

MP 810 - install the cd tray and attempt to print.  The printer then advises that there is no tray inserted... any suggestions

I solved this problem. When you get the message close the cover. (You must press print to get to this stage.) Remove the tray. Close the cover. Press OK. Then wait a few seconds for a dialogue box to appear. It tells you to open the cover and insert the tray and press OK. The tray is taken past the white arrow automatically and prints beautifully. If you are printing more discs immediately do,leave the tray out with cover open, press print and it just works perfectly without any problems

I have tried to print on CD's on my Canon MP810 and although all the settings are correct, i.e. Disk Tray F, etc the diagram on the printer review does not change to the shape of a CD and when I print it prints as though on a sheet of A4 paper. Any suggestions????

Sorry a little late only just read your problem.
The location is not the bottom tray feeder but the disk tray. In settings change your media type to "Printable Disk" the paper scource should automatically change to "Disk Tray" and hopefully every thing will work OK.

I cannot place the cd tray into the printer to print a cd..Canon ip3000.

Hi, I have fixed my problem by sheer perseverance and obstinacy...
Every time I tried to print a dvd label it came up as an error...the arrow indicator marks on the type "B" caddy were not in the right place...
by centering the caddy into the printer tray about 1cm...approx 1/2 inch deeper then the arrow marks, the printer worked fine...this is a bad mistake by Canon...as they repeatedly state not to push the tray further then the marks...
all is well that ends well...
cheers

I have pixma mx300 Can I print CD labels? Thanks Bryan Will my Cannon Pixma MX300 print Cd Labels. For standard printing the paper is fed from the back.

You can print adhesive sheet labels (such as avery 5931/8931) with no problems. Some canon printers will also print directly on CDs; check this website: http://damnprinter.com/. They have lists of printers that will work and pretty good instructions. I didn't see the MP300 listed. I managed to get a canon 6600D printer to print directly onto CDs, but I had to buy a tray (ebay-$12.00) and it took about an hour to convince it to do the job. The website says to follow the steps "several" times if necessary; it took a while.

Canon MP810-CD-R Tray loading-printing problem

I read on another site that you must wait until prompted on the screen to put the tray into position. Opening the inner door and loading the tray before asked to and then pressing OK was the key to fixing the problem on the MP830.
It's the simple things that always get you into trouble, I guess.

Cannon MP810 when turn on display error A600. There is also no light displaying on the printing cartridge.

A600 or 6A00. If 6A00 then the fault code is for the AP motor position error. Error lies with the sheet feed unit, Purge unit or Logic board.
