My icemaker leaks water that forms a large icicle in the icecube tray. whats the problem causing this? i have to remove the ice formation at least once a day. Ive tried changing the filter. Nothing has worked.
I believe too much water is coming into the ice maker, resulting in
overflow of some water into the ice cube container and resultant melted
mass of ice in the right side of the container. Is there an adjustment
for the amount of water flowing into the ice maker at each cycle?
I have a subzero 632 and waters seems to leaqk into the ice bucket causing a large blaock of ice to be formed at the bottom. I have to periodically chop it out What do you think the problem is? The leaking is caused by a defective=> WR57X10051 Dual Water Control Valve Replacing the valve will solve that problem. If you have questions please ask, Thanks Sea Breeze
start with hose replcement buy parts at sears water hose to main ice maker might have crack in it or the stopper is bad get in ther look close with brite light
The waterinlet valve on the back of the unit where the
water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and
block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to
see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Is it overfilling with water? If so, it may be an problem with the fill valve leaking slightly. I say slightly because if it were a large leak, the freezer would have frozen puddles in it. Also check the water chute to be sure the water is all going into the freeze tray. Sometimes they can work loose.
If the seam is leaking, there could be a crack in the housing - not sure that's repairable - sometimes epoxy will work (5 minute, 2 part) but it can be difficult for glue to hold on the type of plastic used in an ise maker housing.
Please confirm you have given the complete model number.
If the icemaker has a bail wire to control how much ice is in the bin, there is a fill switch inside the front cover of the ice maker which allows you to increase or decrease the amount of fill.
You may also have a cracked or corroded ice mold. Check by filling the icemaker with water manually, and watching to see if it drips once the initial overfill stops dripping. This would also be indicated by the ice cubes being smaller than usual.
please check the small hose that guide the water to the ice tray. see that it is in good condition and no cracks or damage what so ever. then look closely at the ice tray, there maybe an ice that would not fell. could have been stuck in there that is why every time water would flow, it would just flow anywhere.
Sometimes the frozen chunk of ice in the back of your ice tub is caused by the tub being overfilled. The ice cubes pile up so high that they come in contact with the defrost heating element in the bottom of the ice maker. This melts the already formed cubes and form a blob of ice in the rear of the tub.
If the "icicle" is forming even when the tub is relatively empty, then it is probably a leaking solenoid valve. This is an electric water valve that opens and closes according to demand. Like any valve, it has seats that eventually leak, especially in areas with hard water. This will need to be replaced. Water filters go a long way in increases the usefaul life span of the valve and will also improve the ice quality.
