The 6A80 indicates that the mechanism called the `purge unit' does not work correctly. In some cases after a paper jam, some paper gets in the unit. Try this:
Turn on the unit and open the cover. Hopefully, the printhead will come to the center. If it doesn't, unplug the printer and try to move the printhead by hand, to the left. Do not force it. If you are able, get a flashlight and inspect the area inside the unit to the right. There may be bits of paper in that area. Being careful, remove it with a tweezers or some such tool.
If you cannot see anything, then the machine will need to be dismantled for service. I recommend authorized service.

i have found a tiny pierce of paper struck inside and i have removed it but it still same. the paper that struck inside is on left hand side and right hand side i see dun have any paper inside. the error code still blinking.

You have done all that you can do, short of dismantling it. I recommend it be serviced. The MX700 is a fairly new model, if it's less than a year old, it is still under warranty.

Solution #1: Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device

Reset the device when it is not functioning properly.

If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.

1. On the operator panel, press and hold the button for one second. (The display will go blank.)

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.

2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the button again.

3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

My wife printed 3 pictures and then printer gave her a error code 6A80. I checked on error code and it said possible paper jam. I then looked inside the printed from the back to front and seen nothing....

This is sort of scenario could be caused by dust inside the printer. Dust has a way of preventing the sensors from detecting paper. Also it prevents the rollers from having a firm grip on the paper while picking paper. I will suggest you get a long handle brush and try to reach as far inside the printer as possible and brush (from the back and front). If you have a blower you may also use it to blow well into the interior of the printer (If you do not have a blower the brushing will still do if you do it well.) This, if properly done should do it. Brush especially the rollers etc.

Error message 6a80 mx700 printer canon what is this?

Hello

Ok, the error code you are getting refers to a paper jam, which the paper is usually torn from the big piece and stuck, you need to have a good lok to find it.
Most probably the paper was ripped inside, and one piece is stuck somewhere on a sensor. Usualy is the purge unit that clean up the print head, and it's located inside on the right side (printhead parking place).

Take a torch, lift up the scanner unit, with the unit ON, wait for the print head to come in the middle, move it to left to make more room, and check the right side, inside the unit.

Kind regards
Andrea

How do I re-set error 6A80? on my Canon PIXMA MX700 lcd display?

6A80 is APP position error.First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output)
is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer.Check the sheet feeder. If this not help your printer need service.

Service Error 6A80

That error says there is something jammed in either the purge assembly or the sheet feeder on the back not able to turn. The purge assembly is on the right where the printhead parks for cleaning.

Will not print

go to this page: "http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=15651#SupportDetailAct"

seems to be related to paper jams or wrong size of paper being placed in the front tray. if loading odd (e.g.: credit card sized), paper sizes, they need to be loaded into the rear tray.

good luck!
