I had an issue with the cassette tray paper feed. I loaded paper in the rear tray, manually used the printer properties button to make it print from the rear tray and printed from there. The next day I manually did the same thing but forced it to print from the cassette (bottom) tray. It worked fine today. It no longer thinks that there is no paper and the rollers are picking up the paper edge for proper feeding of the paper. I did not go through the roller cleaning procedure but I would do that if switching back and forth manually between trays doesn't work.

I assume you have no paper feed issues.
There are 2 places that you can place paper, and a switch to choose which one you are using.

Red light flashes, screen says "load correct paper: A4." The paper is alreay loaded. I cannot print.

When <LOAD CORRECT PAPER> appears on the display, the size of the paper in the paper cassette or multipurpose tray is different from that of the paper specified in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>. You need to load the correct size paper or change the paper size in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>.
Check if the size of paper loaded in the paper cassette or multi-purpose tray meets the paper setting specified in the machine.

check the following:
1. The paper size specified on the printer driver screen
2. Paper loaded in the machine
3. The paper size set in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>

Receipt printer paper reduction isn't working

Power the printer on and press the Paper button to see if paper will load.
If the paper doesn't load, make sure the paper isn't curled or creased, isn't loaded above the arrow on the left edge guide, and that the paper isn't jammed in the printer.

Take the paper stack from the tray; fan it before attempting to print.

Make sure the paper stack is leaning against the paper tray and not standing straight up in the tray.

If the Paper Out light is on solid, reload the paper, making sure the paper edge guide is adjusted to fit the paper's width, and then press the Paper button again to see if the paper will now load.

If the Paper Out light is flashing, turn the printer off, reload the paper, turn the printer back on, and try pressing the Paper Feed button again to see if the printer will now successfully load the paper. If the problem persists, power the printer off, remove the printer cable, and make sure all of the packing materials are removed.

If the problem is not resolved, contact Epson's technical support for further assistance.

My Canon Pixma MP600R insists that paper is jamed in machine, despite the fact that jam has been cleared and paper is being ejected when machine is switched on

The simplest thing would be to try unplugging the printer from the power source. Let it rest for 5 - 10 minutes then plug back in to the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.

If not you are going to need to do a thorugh inspection to verify that all paper remnants have been removed.

The following is for the MP600:

Clearing credit card-sized paper jammed inside the printer
Credit card-sized and 4" x 6" sized paper must be loaded properly. If this media is not loaded properly, it will feed into the printer and will not exit. Credit card-sized paper should only be loaded in the ASF and in portrait orientation. 4" x 6" sized paper can be loaded in the ASF or cassette. But must be loaded portrait orientation.
If credit card-sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the ASF and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Load the same paper type that is jammed inside the printer in portrait orientation.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Open the rear cover.

  3. Fold in four a piece of letter-sized plain paper.

  4. Push in the folded paper until it hits the jammed paper.

  5. If the jammed paper is visible from inside the printer area, pull it out and proceed to step 7.

  6. If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out, push in the folder paper from the rear so the jammed paper is in between the feed rollers.

  7. Pull out the folded paper and close the rear cover.

  8. Power on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off.
The jammed paper should automatically eject.

  9. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

Seems like the rollers are either dirty, or worn out. Probably the latter.

Printer loads paper incorrectly when trying to print

in the tray where you put the paper, there are two pieces of plastic that site on the side ,,,,, bring them close to the paper as to touch the paper.

this way the paper cannot go left or right when loaded and now will go in straight.

this oughta do it.
