When the monitor fires up it takes 10-15 minutes to stabilize the desk top , the video card has been re-seated in the computer and connection has been re established, when I disconnect the DVI cable the floating color bars are equally unstable and has Vertical hold issues until the DVI is reconnected and it re-stabilizes as above. I was thinking of opening up the monitor to reconnect all of the cables incase of intermittent connections.I am looking for a service manual to open the cassing. Please and thank you Paris

You wont find a service manual for the monito..
1.) Take the unit off its pedastall and remove the 4 screws holding the back support bracket on

2.) The front bezzel seperates by having to pry the two halvs appart at the parting line. Using a small screw driver at the bottom middle start to releasing the catches that are spaced about 1" from each other. Go slow dont force it!!!!!!! Remember the clasps holding the two halves together are spaced 1" apart once you find it the first one you will be able to pop the rest allone the bezzels edge.

3.) once the bezzel s off the unit seperates.

4.) there arnt many connections inside but it doesent hurt to check.

Why is the screen flickering?

YOU MAY WANT TO BE MORE SPECIFIC WITH YOUR QUESTION? LAP TOP....DESK TOP....TABLET?

Usually a flicker is from a poor connection or low voltage. You may have a video card on the blink??? And or a Monitor. You can eliminate it being your monitor...by hooking your video out cord to another monitor...see it it still flickers...If yes...then the problem can be in the video card being seated properly or as I said...low voltage of going out soon. Good luck

I'm thinking it might be the video or graphics card on my desk top ive tried several different monitors and nothing no error message no windows logo all the ports and cables are fine nothings broken

if it has a separate monitor connection on the mother board at the back, pull the graphic card and connect to the monitor to that connection
If it is a graphic card , the mother board card will run the monitor so replace the graphic card
if you do not have a plug in graphic card and that is how you have it set up take it in for a proper diagnosis as it may be the mother board is failing

When I turn on my computer the LG Monitor displays the Digital Message appears and it goes to sleep. How do I fix this problem

This sounds like what happens when the monitor receives no video input.
The problem could be your computer, lead or connection rather than the monitor.

If your computer has a graphics card, try removing it, switching the computer on, switching off and refitting the graphics card or testing with a known good graphics card or computer.

If nothing works the monitor probably has a fault.

Half desk top is coloured green

Hello,

If you have tried the PC with another monitor and it does the same thing then the problem is your video card being faulty. If you have a video card installed (i.e. PCI, PCI-E) then you should take it out and connect the monitor to the inbuilt video card on your motherboard. If you don't know how to do this then I suggest taking it to a local PC helpdesk.

My desk top computer monitor will not come on, but the tower will light up, could it be a virus..if so how do i fix it

A couple things to consider ... Are you certain the monitor is plugged in ... is there power in the outlet/power strip ... is the power strip turned on ... can you try another outlet close by ... is the power light on the monitor lit? Are both ends of the video connection connected? Are you using on-board video adapter or a adapter card? Is it properly plugged in. Do you have a second monitor you can temporarily connect to your tower? (like a lap top that you can connect with a VGA cable?) Can you try your monitor with someone elise's computer? If your monitor doesn't work on another known good computer ... it could be your monitor needs replaced.

Thanks for your question

Don't light up right away, it takes 5 or more minutes.

try to use another know good monitor to check sometimes its the video card of the computer. If it doesnt happen to another monitor then definitely its your monitor and you need to replace it.if the monitor is still under warranty then the manufacturer will have that replaced if not then you might need to purchase a new one.hope this helps...

Need help my desk top monitor is showing a sign flashing saying no signal detected need to see how to fix or what might be the issue with desk top

This is the message shown when you power off your computer but you leave the monitor on. If your PC is on but you still see this message then it is a video problem. It could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere in your video cable (either where it plugs into the monitor or where it plugs into the PC). It could also be the monitor-many have different input modes and maybe the input mode changed somehow. Then again something could be wrong with the video card-are components loose on it? Check all of these, in that order (easiest to hardest), and I think you will have found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Monitor display on Dell E176FP

You may loose connections at the end of the VGA cable, or video card not seated tightly. I would check that first.

Takes to long for the monitor to start

This is a power supply problem in the monitor. There is an unstable component or components that are failing or you have some cold solder joints in the connections. The reason it turns on is that some components are self healing and will sometimes stabilize after warm-up periods.Cold solder joints sometime close after heating up in the circuit You should return to dealer for repair or replacement. Hope this helps you.

Blinking monitor screen

this might be overly technical, but it sounds like the video card is on the blink (no pun intended). I'd power down the machine, open it up, pull the video card, re-seat it, and power the computer back on.
If it continues to do this, that card is probably toast.
