Would like to know how to use this product to find studs

Hello this is a easy one you need to get your self a set of Wheel/Stud Bolt Circle Template's they cost about $20.00 you can get a set of three which includes 5 lug SAE, 5 lug METRIC, 4 lug SAE & METRIC
all you do is count how many lugs / studs you have holding your wheels on your car select the correct 4 or 5 hole template and spin it around until the holes in the template line up now you know the correct
bolt circle. Match that with the wheel your looking at to put on your car
and you will know if it fits. Tell the person at the junk yard your bolt circle and they will know what to look for.

Most NAPA central distribution stores have an extensive selection of bolts. Take one to make sure it's right. The thread per inch is also critical to know. Dorman products also. Fastenal now has many locations (have to buy a box), or Grainger Industrial Supply.

Hello. The instructions can vary from model to model, but most have a green indicator light that lights up when the unit detects a stud. only had one 20 years ago they were right hand nut side an left hand into block//used the two lock nuts tightened together to pull studs//like over tightening the lock nuts clockwise breaks stud threads loose ..install new same
