Braun Coffee Maker Type 4093

The coffee maker started to make coffee. It made approximately 1/4 pot and quit. The water was in the tank, the light was on and the 1/4 pot of coffee was hot but it would not make any more. Tried it again with another full tank of water and it will not let any water flow into the coffee making unit. can you help?

It sounds like the hole at the bottom of the waqter tank is clogged. the fact that it is hot means the electrical parts are all working.

Braun coffee maker starts brewing, then stops after a few seconds

ijustam1

I have the same machine, Braun KF180 12 Cup Coffee Maker. In normal operation the brew cycle is stopped when the water reservoir is empty. The only way the coffee maker knows if that is true is when the water-brewing heater gets too hot. Your brewing heater is probably encrusted with calcium deposits if you have been heavily using the coffee maker. Vinegar will work but it is weak and you will have to cycle this solution through many many times. You should instead use "Lime Away" or "CLR" and let it sit there in a brew cycle or multiple brew cycles for a while. NOTE: Remove the filter when cleaning this way and when the brew cycle is complete, rinse thoroughly -- your taste buds will let you know if the machine is not rinsed thoroughly. -- Good Luck!!

Bunn coffee maker

It sounds like you have a pour over model and the problem is the tank isn't full. Turn the machine off (or unplug it). Put a pot on the warmer like you are going to brew coffee. Pour clean cold water into the top until it starts coming out the sprayhead (above where the coffee grounds go). Now plug it in and turn on. Let it heat up then you can brew.

The way your machine works is that there is always about 2-1/2 pots of water in the tank. The water you pour in to make coffee is actually pushing the hot water in the tank out. So, if you don't fill the tank before using it, you may be hurting the heating element since it isn't totally submerged in water.

3-Pot coffee Maker instructions

The first time you use the machine you need to make sure it is full of water - before you plug it in and turn it on. Put an empty coffee pot under the brew basket and fill another empty pot with clean cold water.

Pour the water into the coffee maker. If water comes out then you can plug it in and turn it on. The water heating tank holds about 2-1/2 pots of water so if your machine is empty you will need to keep adding water before you turn it on otherwise you may burn up the heating element.

After the green light comes on - indicating that the tank is hot you can brew a pot of coffee. This machine is meant to be left on all of the time so it is always ready to brew. If you choose to turn it off when not in use, you will need to give it about 10 minutes to fully heat up the water before you brew.
