I'm having a problem with it after it heats up some, intermittently the speakers will cut out and come back on. when its cold it seems to be just fine. Also i noticed when it does cut out, mainly the dr side front speaker will stay on, But on occasion it also will cut out too. It's really wierd. Any Ideas?
Your problem is most likely with the amp itself and not your connections. I too own a phoenix gold ti500.4. And the channels fad in and out on me too after playing for a while. Especially at low volumes. I've done extensive trouble shooting working my way through the audio chain from the deck to the speakers. Ive instaIled this amp into other vehicals with with the same outcome. If anyone shares this problem or knows any mods or settings on the amp that can resolve this, please let us know. I"ve been instalIing mobile audio for over 11 years professionally, and this amp is the craziest thing I've ever seen. According to the sales reps that visited our store, Phoenix Gold has had manufacturing problems in the past especially when the product is first released and the problem occurs a few months later after passing quality control. Ok, when you look at the amp, the power + and ground - will be on one side of the amp with another smaller opening in between them. That opening is for your remote wire from your radio. Without that, your amp will not receive the input voltage to signal it to turn on. The speakers will go into the remaining open holes. Your RCA wires will be on the opposite end of the amp.
More than likely a blown output transistor. Phoenix can send you a schematic for that if you email their tech support. Be careful if you decide to work on it yourself.
1. (STEADY ON) - RUN THE POWER FROM THE AMP TO THE POSITIVE LED TERMINAL THE NEGATIVE CAN BE RAN FROM THE NEGATIVE SPEAKER TERMINAL.
2. (INTERMITTENT; COMES ONE EVERY TIME THE BASS HITS) - RUN THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES FROM THE + AND - TERMINALS TO THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE TERMINALS OF THE LED LIGHTS.
