Hi. I'm using Nvidia GeForce GT 6800 Ultra I experience some heavy graphics problems in newer games (as Company of Heroes and League of Legends). Some extreme geometric shapes occur, as if the objects and textures are streched out along the screen. The drivers for the card is up to date. How do I solve the problem? Mathias

You may have to upgrade your graphics card to handle the physics equations needed. Did you happen to notice the graphics requirements for this game? It also may be just the addition of memory to your graphics card. You have a good card, just may need more memory.

SOURCE: about an old NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 256mb AGP card

Hi Jhacy, there are a few reasons why you're system would freeze when opening a game you want to play.
1. Please check the game requirements needed for PC. You're system must meet the minimal requirements. If you bought this game, the information will be listed on the game box.
If you do not have the box than go to the web site home page for the game & find the minimal requirements needed to play that game. It is not always about the video card. It is also about you're PC system. CPU strength, system memory, size & speed. Operating system, is the operating system updated?
Even over-all system peformance. Run windows system defrag to help you're primary drive re-gain some speed.
2. Make sure you're FX 5500 is using the latest software drivers.
http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_winxp_2k_32bit_91.28.html

3. Install microsoft directx 9.0c Click this link to download & install.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en

4. Each game will most likely have (Game updates/patches).
Go to the games main web page & download & install any updates and or patches.
5. Lastly, when you first open the game. There should be a section for (Settings). Lower the video settings for the game. Exzample: If you have the video settings set to High, change it/them to low or medium low.
After everything I mentioned above has been run checked, updated & installed & the game still freezes it may be time to call the makers of the game. Every game site has technical support. You can email them with you're troubles trying to play the game. Chances are after doing all the above you may not need to contact the game maker.

Good Luck Jhacy!
Please let me know if this has helped.

I am having problems with my nvidia geforce 6800 gt. When i turn on my pc everything is fine but whenever i play games for ex. Bioshock or counter strike source my pc screan turns off and says no signal....

i suspect youyr graphics card is heating up and shutting off to prevent damage. windows will also shut it off but usually repaorts that it did. here is my reccomendation:
1. open side case and place a fan right nest to it. if this makes it work then heat is definitely trhe culprit. if so install a video card cooler or another exhaust fan.
2 turn all the graphics options down on the game. shut anti aliasing off and all options to minimun. then try to play if it still shuts off then your card may be on its last leg from over heating. the 6800 gt was ok when it came out but todays games require more. in fact the newer games won't run on a 6800 gt.
the big thing is heat. the standard 6800 gt just doesn't get rid of enough heat. in fact the 9800 gt i had overheated and burned out. i stay away from gt and now use gtx cards. they have a better cooler and ususally the vent outside of the case.

My nvidia card is not working...Failure with the driver

You should download and install this driver instead for your 6800:

That should take care of your problem.

After I plug in my graphics card it makes a high pitch squealing.

Unplug the board, don't put the side panel on and listen for the sound. Sometime a rolled up newspaper can be used as a stethescope and help determine the squeal location.

Is my Motherboard compatible?

Try to find out what the AGP voltage is on the motherboard.
Some graphics cards use 1.5 volts and some use 3.
If it's a 1.5 volt AGP slot and you plug a 3 volt graphics card in, it either wont work or you could permanantly damage both card and motherboard.
