Hi Overton2525,

I used to install all these talkback and sound-effect devices in radios for the truckers, and most were so elaborate, that I did it in kit form. You must be pretty handy with soldering, so here we go with a bold little adventure. CB Radio Magazine has a nice inexpensive project that won't take very long to install.
Here's the link to their pages:

Your radio meets all the requirements for this project. Let me know how this Mod works out for you. Thanks.

Regards, Bill

I have the ROADPRO RPPS-550 4 Noise Cancelling CB Extension Speaker with Talkback, why is there 2 male plugs and where do they get plugged in at. One obviously to the CB radio. The other ???

Both should go to the CB radio. One would be for "audio out" from the radio, the other should be for "audio in" to the radio to handle the "Talkback" feature. I doubt that most CB radios will support this. Your best bet is to determine which plug provides output to the speaker (so you have better audio output from your CB - if that's actually possible) and disregard the 2nd plug if your radio doesn't support it. Hope this helps.

My radio squeals with echo when my amps on

adjust your talkback to just open then set your echo to where you want it. Now turn your amp on and re-adjust both the talkback and the echo . If you have a speaker nearby the radio may be feeding back through it so move it away from your radio . Now start talking with the mic and adjust your echo because you should be able to hear yourself talk through your talkback.

Want to get talkback in a cobra 29

When you key up the mic ungrounds the speaker so you don't hear anything through it, so to get talkback you're putting a 100 ohm 1, or 2 watt resistor between the switched side of the speaker and ground, now when unkeyed the mic grounds the speaker as usual, but when you key the resistor allows a bit of audio from the audio amplifier, not decoded RF, to still get through. I think the pa/ext spkr. jacks are a convenient place to connect it. You may decide to control talkback by running the circut thru a switch like brite / dim switch . Want less talkback, use more resistance, 150 ohm . Too much talkback can become feedback . I hope this helps, J

I want talkback on my cobra 29ltd classic radio how do i do this myself

Open the case on your radio. Solder a 100 ohm resistor between the pa jack and ext speaker jack. You can add a switch if you like to turn it on and off. The lower the resistance, the louder the talkback.

WANT TO ADD TALKBACK IN A RADIO

A 200 ohm 1-watt resistor across pins 1 & 4 of the mic jack will make some talkback. More or less resistance will make less or more talkback. Note the association of less and more.
