All of the sudden I cannot download images from my camera to my computer as in the past. Any suggestions? I also cannot view pictures taken on my camera like I could. It's like the switch is broken.

I would try formatting the card, and trying with new pictures. If that does not work, you may need a new main board. The main boards on that model are prone to problems. You will have to decide if it is worth fixing, if formatting does not fix it. If you want to sell this camera, contact me at: mrfixitmark at comcast dot net
I can use this camera for parts.

Hi
I have got an S5000 that I can still view previously taken pictures from the card, but when trying to take pictures the screen and view finder shows a peculiar distorted purple and green picture and any picture taken is just a green blur.
I contacted Fuji and they say they can repair it for £90 (about $120)
It is known problem of bad ccd imager in Sony DSC-T1 camera and ccd imager chip will be replaced to get normal live view in camera mode. Sony will repair it free of cost so click Sony CCD Imager Support for details. Thanks.
If it's pink/purple and "streaky", you have a bad CCD sensor. The only fix is replacement of the sensor. This is the main image capturing sensor in the camera. The situation is well documented on the web. It's usually the end of the camera, unless it's under warranty (or just a little past). Approaching Fuji's repair department can sometimes yield a sympathetic rep who'll have it fixed at no charge to you. If you are on the hook for the repair, expect to drop about $100 US.
Once you have properly connected your camera to your computer (see FAQ #2 listed above), your computer will see your camera (connected and powered on) as a disk drive - most likely listed as "removable disk." Now that you know where to look to find the images, they can be viewed and/or downloaded in a variety of programs. Please visit our Learning Studio for specific step-by-step instructions (complete with examples and visuals) for further assistance in viewing/downloading images.
