I have tried to get a replacement filter basket holder a number of times using differnt people, including DelLongi, themselves. I dont know if I have a mutant machine or something, but nothing that I receive fits my machine. I have a picture of the two parts side by side, but no one at any sutomer service cares; they just say they will refund. i want to find sometime to help me fix the problem!!

Hi, this part Is the result of speaking to someone at Delongi; after going through this I would never just order something without speaking to someone. Might you be the someone who can look at the pic to see the problem?

Hmm that is very strange indeed, and DeLonghi has claimed they have no idea why they are different sizes? Have you asked to speak to a supervisor? From my notes and reference material there is only the one replacement part for that unit that you speak of... so possibly they just sent you the wrong one... I'd suggest you keep calling DeLonghi until you get someone willing to help you, anything online is going to be the same as what you received from them, and I'd be wary of purchasing something online as you may not be able to return it. At least DeLonghi will work with you to get a refund and I am sure a supervisor would help you locate the correct part.

Thanks
Tim

Sure, post the picture on here so I can visualize what is going on. You say you did try talking to a supervisor at Delonghi, or did you just call the one time since you received the part?

what is the correct address to email this pic? I did not speak to a sup; I was just old by the Customer service rep that a picture wouldnt help

  • Anonymous Sep 17, 2010

No a picture probably wouldn't do them much good, and I am not sure it will do me much good either, but it can't hurt. You can just post it here.. in the box right below where you type here there is a button for PICTURES and it will let you select it. Also, you definitely should try speaking with a supervisor at Delonghi, someone with some authority, as this problem doesn't make sense at all. Based on your serial number from the machine they should definitely be able to find you the right part. They made the thing for goodness sakes... there's no way they don't have the correct part to fit it, or at least will know where to find it.

    Thanks
    Tim

Cuisinart grind & brew - spring in the filter area popped out. not sure where it goes?

Yes, you place the spring into the tube at the back. When you replace the basket holder, make certain you reach in behind the holder and guide the spring into the proper place on the holder. (Otherwise the spring will be forced to a permanent bend and not work as well. Can't find replacements for this spring on Cuisinart's website).

As for why it pops out better now, when you removed the basket holder and cleaned it, you also cleaned the plastic guides on each side. In normal use, these guides acculuminate coffee and tend to get sticky or gummy. When the door pops open, the sticky rails grab the guides and slow the sliding action.

Cleaning them restores the clean guide rails to slide open on. (Next time you clean the basket holder, remember to reach in and wipe out all the inner parts, including the plastic rails that the basket holder slides out on. These get coated with coffee as well. And the place around where the grind basket fits over the ground basket. This area always gets sticky with old coffee. Just use a wet paper towel and clean everything. (But remember to be careful when you reinstall the basket holder so that the spring fits back properly.

I broke the peice that puts water through the coffee basket on a Keurig Elite B40 Coffee Maker where can I buy parts for this?

If you are talking about the K-cup holder that punches the bottom of the k-cups, they usually are not for sale, and you can only find them on ersale sites like Ebay.etc...
you could also go buy a "Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter"
and just use the main grey plastic filter holder... but you will have to puncture the bottom of the k-cups yourself before dropping them into the holder...
You wont need the filter basket or the lid if your using k-cups... just the filter holder...

dont forget to punch a hole in the k-cup first...

How do i clean my cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker? i can't find my instruction booklet and it needs to be cleaned. thanks!

From the manual I found online here.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE COMPLETELY CLEAN AND DRY ALL PARTS AFTER EVERY USE. Always turn coffeemaker OFF and remove the plug from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Open the reservoir lid*. Remove the grinder basket lid by using the recessed area on each side of the lid. Then remove Grinder Basket. Open Filter Basket Door. Remove Filter Basket Cover, Filter Basket and Filter Basket holder. The grinder basket, grinder basket lid, filter basket and filter basket cover can be washed in warm soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of the dishwasher. Dry all parts after every use. Do not put any water in the unit once the grinder basket has been removed. Wipe the area under the grinder basket with a damp cloth. If water gets into the grinder motor, the motor may become damaged and may malfunction.
DECALCIFICATION Decalcification refers to removing the calcium deposits which form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker. For best performance from your coffeemaker, decalcify the base unit from time to time. The frequency depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffeemaker. To clean, fill the water reservoir to capacity with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water. Turn the coffeemaker on by pressing the ON button. One cycle should be sufficient to adequately clean the coffeemaker. When the cycle is completed and the five beeps sound, turn coffeemaker off. Repeat operation, this time using fresh cold water.

Just bought machine. Filter holder is different from one described in booklet. It talks about the filter holder has been replaced by a spring systems that holds the filter in place. OK...so I got the big...

hi m.fleshman! in answer to your question, i paid $25 for mine used...it's like a $25 paperweight. hold the coffee grinds basket up to a light-can you see light thru just one hole, or all of the holes? if just one, this passed quality control at the factory & shouldn't have passed. i imagine that details like this are rampant on this machine. if i had bought mine at the store instead of 2nd hand, i'd take it back for a full refund! otherwise, it may be that someone put the wrong filter in the package. it's also possible that you may need to take out the spring (if it's removable) from the bottom of the filter holder-i don't know b/c i bought mine used. hope this helps!

Have the Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffee maker. When you begin to brew coffee it brews some of it but leaves the whole filter top full with coffee and coffee grounds. Called then customer service line and...

It sounds like you were using the gold permanent coffee filter in addition to a paper filter. You should use one or the other.

The gold permanent filter must be cleaned between each brewing cycle.

Try this:

1. Remove the filter basket from the coffee machine.

2. Remove the gold permanent coffee filter from the basket.

3. Clean the basket thoroughly. Ensure there are no grounds clogging any holes.

4. Insert a new paper filter only into the basket. Do not use the gold permanent filter for this test.

5. Fill the water reservoir with the desired amount of water.

6. Add the desired amout of coffee grounds into the paper coffee filter.

7. Replace the filter basket into its holder in the coffee machine, and close the water reservoir lid. Press firmly on top where it says, "Press to Close".

8. Ensure the glass carafe is placed correctly in its position on the heating plate.

9. Turn the Function Knob to "BREW", then flip the Power Swich to "ON"

Hope that helps.

Braun KF 600

Hi,

I am thinking about purchasing this model; so I am very interested in your report.
We are replacing a Braun KF 145 that's about 8 yrs old.

We had a similar problem that was solved by taking care with the coffee filter basket. Always close the basket firmly in place before you place the carafe in position. The overflow problem only occurred when we placed the carafe first and then closed the filter basket.

Maybe the same mechanics apply with the KF600.

Leaks From Filter Gasket

Sounds like you might have coffee oil build up. I would suggest soaking the Brew Head Screen and filter holder in a coffee oil remover by www.urnex.com or dezcal. Remove the screw if your filter basket has one. For home use it would be good to clean this every week or so. You can email me for more info: [email protected]. You also might just try purchasing a new filter basket (along with cleaning the Brew head screen and new basket).
