Turns off by itself!!!

The tv will turn off by itself while watching a program. It makes a loud noise. You can sometimes turn the tv back on but it will do the same thing again. Other times it will not come back on. You have a black screen.

My olevia 237-t11 turns off by its self and sometimes makes a loud screcheen noise

Sounds like either the main or display power supply is failing. Might consider a new TV. Parts could be found but it might be hard to find them.

Most likely it has some bad capacitors in the power supply. Flat--panel sets are VERY hard on capacitors, due to the fact that the "rising heat' from the set "cooks" the caps and they fail VERY early.

I have 26" flat HDTV - after turning on tv it works for a few minutes, then screen turns into mulicolored vert & horiz streaks + loud scrambling noise. sometimes it will go longer before doing it, up...

Check the LVDS cables to the t-con board, The t-con board itself and last but not least the panel itself.
