Self timer How does the self timer work on this Olympus FE-170 digital camera? I see on these references it has one. I do not have an instruction manual here.

Try one of these tips:

>Hold your camera steady using both hands
>Hold your breath just before you take a hand-held shot
>Use a tripod, or a set your camera on a steady surface
>Set your camera's self-timer

Set the dial mode to auto ;
Turn off macro mode;
Turn on the camera's flash.

Press down-arrow on the cursor pad (marked with a one-handed clock) to toggle the self-timer. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button.

If you are asking about software downloads for the Olympus FE-170, then I am afraid that the Olympus support site pages for this camera are saying no software downloads are available. You can download a manual though.

you can replace the LCD screen for about 20 bucks.

Recording moving images. Sound is not recorded

This is straight from your camera's user manual.

The camera does not have any way to provide sound with the movie clips. This is how the camera was designed by the manufacturer.

To my knowledge, an Olympus FE-170 has no audio recording capability and records the video on 15FPS.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

cant you show your the drivers of FE-170 olympus

The FE-170 is not equipt with microphone for sound with video. Sorry. The only fix is to buy a different camera.Some with sound are:Olympus FE-190, FE-230, most Stylus brands and newer FE model cameras.

Broken LCD screen is quite easy to replace on the FE-170 and FE-210. I have purchased cameras with bad lens but good LCDs on ebay pretty cheaply( compared to having Olympus repair camera).
