My pc is not playing audio files & playing videos only & video are mute.I want to say no audio is heard.

Make sure you have compatible audio codecs installed on your computer and the playback device volume is up and not muted. For PC, try playing the file with VLC Media Player:

If the video file itself has no audio embedded, then there will be no sound until that file is edited (using any video editing software - windows movie maker, etc) and audio is added.

If you can't hear audio while playing YouTube videos then follow the given steps, Any step may solve your problem,
First of all check your PC audio settings, Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers, Try to play any saved audio file of your PC and check that u hear audio sound or not, if it works then Install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (necessary for streaming YouTube videos.or may be YouTube videos are muted for this Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube Video Player. If you have done this and still you can't hear audio then Restart your internet browser or chane your browser like (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)

If you only can't hear the audio when using certain media playback software , first of course make sure that your sound card shows up in the device manager , then go to the control panel & select "sound / voice" option , open the audio mixer & make sure that it didn't somehow get set to mute .

The next step would be to download the latest drivers for your sound card from the manufactures website , install & reboot .

Finally download the latest version of Klite Codec Pack Full

Install the codec pack & reboot your pc , you should be set to watch & hear nearly every format of video or audio file .

If you are using windows OS, most probably your Media Player is not support playing the Audio/Video formats, you are playing.

You can download & install the codec latest version for your PC/Laptop "K-Lite Codec Pack or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack" from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm which will play most of the Audio/Video format.

You can also install the free VLC media Player too.

Just download & install the codec "K-Lite Codec Pack or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack" latest version to your WinXP PC. You should be able to play most of the audio/video formats.

by selecting language and Operating system.
second option where you can't hear the audio while playing the video files only...this is the case of either a missing codec or some option in the Video player.I suggest you to use VLC player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ for playing a lot of formats. or either tell me which player are you using...I could give you a codec link or sort out any option that is preventing you from hearing any audio.

first uninstall audio drivers from device manager.
then downlaod audio driver from here thewn check also check there is not any mute button enabled.
Play 1 mp3 files and if it gives error your drivers are not installed properly but if it plays then your driver is working fine so there should be mute or some hardware issue.

select your operating system AND download audio drvier

Are you sure you have not done the volume mute.
Check for the speaker cable if the pin is correctly inserted in the speaker jack.
or try the method which is always handy . Go to Start + Programs + Accerories + System Tools + select System Restore , Remember you last heard the sound and restore .

Your PC might not have an appropriate audio decoder for your video files. You may try downloading and installing an MPEG-2 codec (such as this one http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Codec-Packs-Video-Codecs/Mpeg-AudioVideo-Filter.shtml) to get it working.
