Problem with MP4

try to un-install the device and any associated drivers, then re-install from the software provided. Drivers can also be downloaded from the website below. Also make sure you have all the current firmware for your device. Go to the following website for all the updates and support needed for your player.
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=US&slg=AEN&cat=MP3_PLAYERS_CA&sct=SU00304_SU&grp=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR&ctn=SA6045/37&mid=Link_FAQs&session=20081205162311_207.118.6.140&hlt=Link_FAQs#

GOGEAR SA6045 does't work with Desktop HP Compaq dx 2200 or dx 2300

Download the clean version of the software from Philips website in each computer BEFORE you plug the GoGear into the machine.

DOWNLOADING MP3 PLAYER TO WINDOWS VISTA LAPTOP

For Vista compatibility with the SA6045 -

Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player doesnt register.

I worked on this thing (sa6045) for three hours................no luck. Finally got a fix.....Go to programs add/remove menu under control panel and delete Philips device manager. Then go to Philips site and download new driver:http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=US&slg=AEN&mid=Link_Software&cat=MP3_PLAYERS_CA&sct=SU00304_SU&grp=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR&session=20080506223817_68.47.250.64&ctn=SA6045/37&dct=PAL&did=AEN&file=/files/s/sa6045_37/sa6045_37_dmr_aen.htm

Install your new driver and be SURE windows media player is not running or trying to sync.If it is running in background philips device manager will not work.Once new driver is installed you can pull up the repair panel and do a hard reset thru software on your Sa6045.

Problems when y try to conect my sa6045 mp3

What version of windows do you have? If you have Vista, you may need add'l drivers not supplied with CD. Get the most recent version of the software by going to the Philips website:
www.usasupport.philips.com
enter your model number
click on the link for SA6045/37
click on software and drivers section
click on device/firmware manager

No device connected

Try installing the newest version fo the software from the Philips website first.
www.usasupport.philips.com
Enter your model number
On the next page, click on your exact model number without the "B" on the end
On the next page, click on "software and drivers"

If that fails:
Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

Sync

Did you run the installation CD that came with the GoGear? (if you have Windows XP)
Grab the installation software from the Philips website (if you have Windows Vista)

If this was done, then:
1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website
2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

You will now be able to load the firmware upgrade by clicking on the update tab in Philips Device Manager. The firmware upgrade should resolve the issue permanently.
