Where can I find a motor for a lasko FAN model 2554. Motor number is Decomin 2033014 120V 0.45A Thanks.

Lasko's are good for stripping the gear in the base that makes it oscillate. If it's still under warranty, they will send you a new fan.

my guess just from what you have told me would be the motor on the fan has given up. there aretwo mototrs in it , one to run the fan and the other one makes it ossilate. As a temporary fix if you are able to get the fan apart and access the motor you can give the shaft a manual turn with your fingers and see if it will get it going. also as funny as it may sound sometimes if you just tap on the motor lightly but firmly with a small wrench it will also get it going again. What has most likely hjappened is the little brushes in the motor wear out and dont make a perfect electrical contact once they are worn so a little coaxing sometime gets it going again but no gauranties.

It is possible that the main capacitor is faulty and so the coils is not enerrgised to start.
So check winding and check the capacitor for open.
Test capacitor by charging both the pins to mains voltage and shorting the pins to see if charge is retained.If retained the capacitor is good, if not replace.

Motor probably went bad. I just fixed one of these today and noticed it had a sealed motor. You can't rebuild them. but try spraying wd-40 on the motor shaft then spin the shaft/blower so it works in then let it dry for 30 minutes.

It's probably the motor. I doubt there's anything that can be done besides just live with it if it isn't too loud. If you were a tech guru, you might be able to take the motor apart and do something but otherwise, for us mere mortals, when something this serious goes wrong with something this inexpensive, it's either live with it or junk it and buy a new one.

Had the same problem with model 2551 - Lasko customer service said it was a failure of the electric motor that operates the blade unit. They do not sell replacement parts for their products, and if the unit is out of warranty (1 yr), your only resolution is to purchase another fan.
I disassembled my fan and discovered that the Decomin electric motor (#2033014) can be fairly easily replaced with a screwdriver and pair of pliers, but these motors are not for sale separately, even though they are still manufactured in China for Lasko and other product companies - they have their own website, but only sell fans, not parts.

there are 20 screws to take apart the fan.

something to wedge the blade and blow out the fan. it will work jus the same

call up the comp! or if you brought it less than a year they have to replace it the catch is the recipt!

You can find Lasko or parts suppler on line or visit one of your local a/c suppliers they will either stock or can order it

I just replaced the thermal fuse in the motor case. You will need to open the motor case and carefully cut the heat shrink tube off where the red wire connects to the white wire. I do mean carefully, as you don't want to cut the tiny coil wire soldered to the white wire and the thermal fuse. Cut the old one out, leaving some of the old lead to solder the new one too. Be sure to add new heat shrink tube before soldering the new one in so you can get it all back properly. This certainly took some time and patiance but was better than throwing it out and spending another 60 to 70 bucks.
