so,what numbers does it show? If you are at 27.187 or 27.183 it should be no problem that little amount of frequency differance won't make any differance. Now if you were at 27.180 or 190 then you would be going into another band width.
This site does not allow a big enough spot to upload a diagram that would be beneficial for this purpose so I had to upload it off site. Since this radio is often converted to run on 11 meter (CB frequencies) the diagram I uploaded corresponds with the frequencies after conversion.
On the Connex radio's the band "HI/LOW" switch determine the band you are on in relation to the knob. If you want the original, stock, frequency chart let me know and I can put that up as well.

Hello,
It sounds like your crystal has gone bad. More than likely it is the 10.25 crystal. Unfortunately if you have no Oscilloscope then you need to take it to a radio tech as you have to inject a frequency into the triple band to get the radio to Oscillate again, once the crystal is replaced.

sounds to me someone was tampering with it ,your best bet is to get a frequency counter and realine the radio .start from 27.185 centre band you can do this by tuning the ossolator be very careful not to damage this should realine the radio for you goodluck
That is wrong , I used to have a freq. counter that only read when you applied RF to it on my old Tempo rig and I ran lower 37 and upper 35 so I would key the radio on am and tune the vfo to that frequency and would be on frequency with everone else,I remember hearing that once long ago but it's not true.
