Symphonic choirs The owner's manual is extremely vague regarding the initial setup.  I have successfully installed word builder and kompact symphonic choirs with all of the updates. However, I'm using a midi controller connected via usb to my computer. I can open both programs (WB and SC) but only get "oh's" and "ah's".  The word builder prints the bars for each phonetic sound in the window below the text box, but I can't get it to learn or play what's in the text box, only the generic "oh's and ah's".  I assume that I have done something wrong with the initial setup in and out ports.  I'm running Logic Studio 8 on a quad core mac pro (OS X leopard).  Please help or refer me to the right resources.  If I can't get this to run as a standalone, I'm certainly not going to get it to run in logic.

I stumbled across this on a random day trying once again to figure out the service menu on my Emerson LC320EM8, by basically digging through every funai LCD service manual I could find on funai's german ftp server online. As these remotes seem fairly universal to all Emerson/Funai/Symphonic (as well as Most no names or store branded) tv's......give this a try..

There's a hidden "service" button on the remote located below and in between the locations of the CH +/- and VOL +/- buttons....you have to cut the bezel on the remote to reveal it...

How to initialize the LCD television:
1. Turn the power on.
2. To enter the service mode, press the service
button on the service remote control unit. (Refer to
page 5-1.)
- To cancel the service mode, Press POWER button on
the remote control unit.
3. Press INFO button on the service remote control
unit to initialize the LCD television.
4. "INITIALIZED" will appear in the upper right of the
screen. "INITIALIZED" color will change to green
from red when initializing is complete.
