I can't remove the basket to empty - Royal PX1000MX Shredder

Error code 40
40. (00101000) Inner Basket Disengage Fault
While carrying out a basket check, the Motor Control Module has found that the basket is
not engaged even though the pressure sensor indicates that the tub is empty. The Motor
Control Module continues to check for 2 minutes, after which time it displays this fault. The
first two areas to check are the clutch and the pressure tube. If these two appear correct,
then the fault could be in the pressure sensor in the Motor Control Module.
Primary Source: Mechanical.
Action: 1) Check that there are no clothes or other foreign objects preventing
the clutch from re-engaging. Excessive suds can stop the basket
rotating.
2) If the machine is empty of water, carry out a clutch disassembly
procedure (Refer to section8.14) and check the spline drive.
3) Next check that the pressure tube has not come off and that it is
not kinked.

Action: Replace Motor Control Module.

8.14 Removal of Clutch Mechanism (Spline Drive / Spline
Driven)
(a) Follow the procedure for removal of Inner
Basket. (Refer to Section 8.13).
(b) Remove the 3 screws securing the spline
driven to the inner basket.
Reassembly:
Refit in the reverse manner. Ensure that the
screws are tightened sufficiently with out over
tightening.

In case of a paper jam , which may occur if the shredder is pushed beyond its specified capabilities, press the control switch to the off [O] position and empty the basket if full. Then:
1) Press and hold control switch in reverse [R] position and attempt to back paper out of shredder.
2) If shredder jams in reverse mode, press control switch to automatic [I] position and attempt to continue shredding operation.
3) If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between reverse [R] and automatic [I] positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through shredder.
If you are unable to clear the jam using this method, turn off and unplug the shredder; remove the wastebasket from cabinet and carefully remove any paper extending below the cutting cylinders; empty the waste basket; insert waste basket and repeat jam clearing procedure.

You will first need to unplug your shredder. On either side on the shredder head, there are grooves. These are finger grooves. Place your fingers inside the finger grooves and lift up. This will remove the shredder head from the waste basket. Simply empty the waste basket, replace the shredder head and plug back in.

You may have the basket completely full and jammed with paper which is why it won't come out easily.....you will just have to try to slightly lift the basket and pull forwards to remove it.

remove door switch and tape the wires together, if it works fine now. replace door switch!

Try cleaning the bin full sensors. located on both sides of your machine, inside the bin,under the cutter head. If that does not solve problem, you need to replace bin full sensors.

there is a magic clean filter on bottom of basket. it has been removed from newer models because it builtup **** and never cleaned itself. need to remove agitator and basket to clean tub and remove plastic filter from bottom of basket. special tool required for basket

The "waste basket" is to indicate that the waste toner area in the drum cartridge is full. If the copy quality is still ok you may be able to empty the waste by removing the drum cartridge from the machine and removing the opaque piece from the left side and dumping it out. BE CAREFUL this can be very very messy. toner is a very fine powder and will get all over the place if caution is not used.
