Do you have (or have you had in the past) Webroot Spy Sweeper antispyware software on your computer?
I've found this problem to be caused by a number of things, but the most common that I've seen is a broken/misconfigured installation of Webroot Spy Sweeper. Also a broken keylogger can also cause this. Check devmgmt.msc for device filters on your keyboard driver, and check your registry for left over Webroot Drivers. And this is an Acer so it wouldn't hurt to attempt to update your BIOS.
If anything I said confuses you in any way you should probably seek professional help to rectify this problem. This isn't exactly in DIY territory for the average user.
On the off chance that it isn't a problem with Spy Sweeper or a keylogger it's probably a hardware issue.

First step is connect an external keyboard in USB port. Click start button, type "keyboard" in "search programs and files", in control panel, click "keyboard". In keyboard properties,, click Hardware tab, click properties button. click the driver tab in Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS.......Check the button the if keyboard is Enabled. Or you can update keyboard driver through internet or in your original Acer CD Driver software.
its a very common hardware fault with these laptops, can you open setup or bios? that is opened right when the power is turned on the and screen says press F2 to enter bios or setup, if you can't enter bios then you have a faulty motherboard, usb ports don't work either? (usb keyboard and mouse don't work?)
