BIOS Crash My EEE PC was having BIOS problems such as not seeing the USB devices when attached and it would just start malfunctioning during use of the USB devices. It was in the process of a BIOS update and the entire system just crashed entirely. Now, it doesn't do anything at all. The power light comes on, sometimes the WIFI light briefly lights up, but I get nothing on the screen period. I followed some of the advice from form users that told me to download a BIOS to a flash drive and start the system with the flash drive plugged in and wait about five or ten minutes then restart. Nothing happens. When I first start the machine, the flash drive lights up a few times and then I still get no other activities from the machine. Since it has been modded (it worked after the mods) I'm assuming that ASUS will not honor the warranty. I would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.

ASUS will probably not honor the warranty in this situation. And even though the computer worked for a short time after the mods there is a legit possibility that the mods did cause the computer to eventually fail (and during a BIOS Update.) Sorry man. It looks like you bricked your system from that last BIOS update. Your only chance is to remove the EEPROM from the motherboard and replace it with one that has the correct firmware flashed.

Good luck.

Asus eee pc bios in this system is not fully acpi compliant

These errors can be misleading. Try setting the BIOS to default.

Remove all USB attached devices.

Test one DIMM at time. One slot at a time. To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC. Opening case. Remove all RAM. Use static precautions!

Re-install Windows. Clean install works best. All data will be lost.

Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Asus eee pc 900 netbook will not boot. Error message says remove disks or other media press any key to restart

Hi guys, i hope this could bring little light to this boot-stop error. First of all sorry for my english /slovakia/. So thi applies for asus eeepc 1005HA /maybe some other models too - depending on motherboard construction. In my case it was 2 parts motherboard which were conected via flex cable. Both parts contrains USB ports which is the think what stops you access to BIOS and all functions. If you hit TAB button during start up /best way to do so before pressing powerbutton/ you will see post messages, which stops on inicializing USB controlers. So what you need to do is
1. turn on computer
2.unplug flex cable which leds to usb ports
3. now you should see progress on your screen, so go to BIOS /F2/
4. visit ADVANCE tab
5. visit ide onboard configuration
6. check for usb controler configuration
7. mark it as DISABLED
8. hit F10 to save your settings
9.reboot

after this hint you will have full access to all functions like before, USB ports included.

hope this little research hlep u too, my eee1005HA is now glowing

I have a disk crash on an ASUS computer, 3 years old. The Disk is a SATA. How can I get my machine to boot ?

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

My Asus Eee PC1000HE problem is all USB port cannot detect all kinds of usb driver such as pendrive, external hard disc, etc. So, i can't reformat my netbook to install other operating system. how to...

From the problem you describe, it sadly looks like the USB controller has failed on the motherboard. If ALL your usb ports are malfunctioning, there is no other solution than to replace the motherboard.
You can check in CONTROL PANEL / SYSTEM / DEVICE MANAGER and see if there is a yellow ! mark next to the usb controllers (there may not be, this is not guaranteed). I have had this happen on netbooks before and after trying to locate the problem, was forced to replace the motherboard
