YP-P2 FIRMWARE PROBLEMS

I UPDATED MY P2 TO 4.13 FIRMWARE AND IT SAID FIRMWARE UPDATE COMPLETE BUT I WENT TO TURN IT ON AND IT GIVES ME THIS MESSAGE

PLEASE IMAGE UPDATE
PLEASE UPDATE STR FILE
PLEASE UPDATE AUI FILE
PLEASE CONNECT TO USB AND UPDATE RESOURCE FILE

SAMSUNGS TECH SUPPORT HAS CUT ME OFF TWICE AND I AM VERY FRUSTRATED!

I TRIED TO FORMAT+DELETE FILES DIDN'T HELP
AND CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A GOOD LINK TO THE FIRMWARE I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN BUT IT SAID OOPS WE CAN NOT FIND THAT PAGE.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have the exact same problem, i've been told reinstalling the 2.08 firmware works but it desn't work for me. You can get the 2.08 firmware at www.mpfreedom.com and click the download tab and it should be there.

    Hi!

    The issue I have been facing is that I am not able to copy the two files (YPP2.rom and YPP2.rsc from Ver 4.13) to my P2. Formatting does not help. Any suggestion is welcome

    yeaa i havee th same problem except i never up dated it just one day i went to charge it then when i turned it on to listen to my music it said it needed to bee up dated but when i go in samsung media studio it doesnt up date.

    HELP ME !!

I had the same problem!

But I found the fix for it after much searching.

First, download the latest firmware directly to your computer's desktop from the Samsung website: http://tinyurl.com/3j4su4

The file is a Zip one so : make sure you extract the 2 files to your desktop!

-Connect your P2 to your computer and go to My Computer.
-Double click the YP2 icon.
-Copy the 2 extracted files from your desktop into the open window. (Do not put them in an already existant folder).
-Unplug the connection from your computer and restart your player.
It will do an update and shut down. Restart it a second time and it will finish the second update.
- There you go, it should work no problem.

The firmware update from having your player connected to the Samsung Media Studio 5 for some reason doesn't work properly.
By doing in manually it works just fine.

The update link I provided is for a US based player.
Just go through the Samsung site to find an update for other contries if you need too and follow the same directions I give above to solve your issues.

Under Description look for the word Games. For Win XP / Vista there's
a zip file available (firmware at least upgraded to version 5.08).

right click on the file and
next select "Save target as..."

Samsung keeps upgarding and nothing i do gets it back to normal
Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the Samsung's website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

I can't update my firmware on my yp-q1. it says
Don`t try to use Emodio.  It will just not do it.  Go on the Samsung site, under support type in your model and download the latest firmware.  Also download the upgrade guide (PDF).  It is very simple.  I did it and got my Q1 upgraded to 1.34 US.  ( as they say you will have to restart it twic.

Emodio no longer displays the portable device (samsung 4g YP-P2)
k this is how im getting "through" it, unistall emodio then downlaod it again...
when it (emodio) asks you if u want to run the update, cancel it, im guessing it was something in the previous update that screwed us all over but if you skip the update your MP3 should register fine.
Ps: dont worry if you re-install emodio ontop of the one you already have it should keep all your songs registered also, but dont quote me on it.

Can install new firmwire
1. Download Winrar here, its a freeware, this will help you open the file

2. Download the firmware here, the newest one is 4.13

3. Unzip the firmware file and select "extract to" using winrar, just extract it to the "desktop"

4. After the 2 files are extracted from the folder, select both of them, right-click and select "cut"

5. Now, go to "My Computer", double-click "P2" (that's the MP4 player) and double-click "internal storage", now, in this directory, "Paste" the 2 files you "cut" earlier, once the files have been successfully pasted (look at your PC screen and MP4 player and make sure nothing is transferring), exit the window, unplug the MP4 player and power it on, the player will be updating and turning of a few times, but once its of, turn it back on until the whole process is finished.
