SOURCE: Cannon MX310 - Fax - Waiting for report

I had the same problem.

My INK Level was Low and I had the setting "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink OFF", and so the report would not print due to the ink level being low.

Solution:
Configure "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink to ON", and the report will be printed immediately, and the message will disappear.

SOURCE: We are getting a message "waiting on report" when trying to fax

I experienced this problem when "Fax Setting -> TX Setting -> Print Report" is configured before you send out the fax.

After your Fax was sent, and the message "Waiting for report" appear forever and does not leave.

It is because your INK Level is Low and your have set "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink OFF", and so the report will not be printed out due to ink level is low.

Solution:
Configure "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink to ON", and the report will be printed out immediately, the message disappear.

SOURCE: HP 1319f MFP reports

This error does not always refer to a fax being missed. If a telephone call is made to a fax by mistake and the caller hangs up, the error on the display will read 'No fax detected .'

Or follow the instructions listed here:

SOURCE: Incoming faxes do not print, fax report reads

First, does the machine print normally from a computer or when making copies?
If so, then most probably you have enabled a private receive fax mode. In this mode, faxes are not printed immediately upon receipt (to prevent unauthorized people to read them), but are stored in memory, waiting for an authorized person to come and print them, providing a PIN (password).
To print the faxes stored in memory, do the following:
- press FaxMenu
- using arrow buttons select "receive"
- press OK
- using arrow buttons select "print faxes"
- press OK
- using the alphanumeric keypad enter the PIN/password and press OK
THe previously received faxes should print..
SOmeone must have turned this option on, so ask that person what he/she entered as the PIN.

MX-310 has fax's in memeory but keeps printing the first page of the first fax only. Screen says check paper size. When i push ok it only will print the first page over and over. How do I change it?

If your Canon MX-310 has been set up to print faxes as they are received, then what is actually in memory is a "received fax report". If you select a particular fax in this report, it will print the first page of the fax to remind you of the content.

Your Canon MX-310 will store fax documents in memory if:
  • Ink is low or has run out
  • The paper size and type is not set correctly
  • Paper has run out
  • The Output Tray is closed

I have a Canon Image runner 1023. when I print i get the message load paper A4, change reg'd size, common settings. and the error light is flashing

Hi
First check the document you are printing from and make sure the paper settings on the specific document are set correctly. Then check the papersize settings on the driver,go to printers and faxes in controll panel,Right click on the ir driver, select printing properties and the printing prefences, change the papersize to the correct papersize.
then check the papersize settings on the machine under the additional usermode.
Clear the job that is stucked in the memory by pressing the monitior button (diamand with a eye sign)select print and clear the job.
Try printing again.

Repeated Fax TX report printing

Solution #3 solved it for me. The report kept printing over and over, so I used the menus (roughly) mentioned in Soluton #3 by guest.

My problem was the printer was trying to print the TX Error Report with the image attached. That made the report too big for standard sized paper, so the machine kept telling me to check the paper size, and I'd hit 'OK', and that made the machine try to print the report again, for it continued to think it had not printed a complete report.

Here's what I did...

Go to: Fax Menu
Arrow right ( >) to Maintenance/Settings, hit, 'OK'
Arrow right to (>) to Device Settings, hit 'OK',
Fax Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Report, OK
Select 'Print error only', hit 'OK',
Attach TX image, Select 'NO', hit 'OK"

With the instruction to not attach the TX image, it will print out the error report without the TX image, the report will fit on the paper, and it will clear this problem.

Good luck!

REPORTS

There is a report called a Confirmation report.
Under your set up, you will find it under one of 2 headings. Either under "reports" or it may just say Confirmation.
You will have 3 settings. 1 is to print on error only. 2 will be to print always and of course off.
If you want it to never print set off, if you want it to print when the fax is NOT sent, sellect error .
