I have a Rotel Stereo Receiver RX-1050. This morning, all of a sudden I noted that with the Master Power on, whenever I press the Power button on the Remote, the receiver turns on but after 1-2 seconds goes into Standby Mode. Although uncertain, I may have left the Receiver on last night (CD mode with no CD in Player) until this morning. How can i fix the problem?

I have an RX 600 - which has just gone 'phut' - which is how I came today to find this website ! I once had your speaker problem but eventually tracked it down to a bad connection of the speaker cable into the rear of the Receiver. Plastic sheathing and dust was partly in the way. Strip off a bit more plastic to expose fresh bright wire, and remake secure tug-proof connection before you try anything else. Oh, and while you doing it, do the others as well !

there would be life in the old girl it just depends how much you love her and how much you are willing to spend to get her fixed ?? some old rotels are still fetching good money so it might be worthwhile getting a quote
