Problem with my sansa m250

Hi...I have a sandisc sansa m250 and when I plug it in...the computer doesn't see it...
I tried changing the USB settings on the device to both MTP and MSC, but still nothing...I figured there's gotta be some hard reset or something...like pressing 2 buttons at once or something like that...
any help...?

Thanks :-)

Hiiii....unable to to turn on my sandisc after i formatted it

does it turn out or get recognised when you connect it to your computer?

if so you can try upgrading the firmware:

Before installing the player must be in MSC (Mass Storage Class) mode to run the firmware. All files will be deleted. Backup your files.

(To switch modes, Go to Menu > Settings > USB > The two options are MSC and AUTO DETECT (MTP) : select MSC)

Installation Instructions:

1. Download and run firmware from

http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1326

2. Follow instructions in installation.

If that doesn't work contact Sansa support there is a good chance they will replace the player for you . I've had things go wrong with mine twice and the've replaced it, In this regards the service is pretty good

Try going to menu, then settings, then USB and then select MSC instead of the auto select. Hope this helps.

SanDisk Sansa m250 MP#

Try doing a hard reset on a Sansa m250:
  1. Turn off the Sansa. Just pull the battery out for a second and then reinstalling the battery without pushing any further buttons.
  2. Plug the Sansa into a computer4.gif, and open "My Documents" in the computer.
  3. Open the Sansa file as if it were a drive, then go to the "MUSIC4.gif Specific storage" file.
  4. Right click the "MUSIC Specific storage" file, and press "Format."
This should hard reset the Sansa m250. This solution has worked for me.
I do not know if this will work on other Sansa m200 type .mp3 players.

Sansa m250 and Vista no music files showing up

I've got vista on My computer & it works well,
I would check all my settings & stuff for it, but it fails to initialise(My Mp3) which is annoying. I just plug mine in & wait for it to load it, then it opens up the new drive thing, and i click"Open Folder" & everythings there.

Sansa m240

Hi. I'm having the same problem with my m250 and am concerned, since I've only had it for a month. Nothing I do, including removing the battery, hooking it up to my computer again, or holding the power button down for a long period of time works.
