My Nikon d3100 only takes black photo's when the lens finder is working but the lcd is showing a black screen but still has icons so what is wrong?

sounds very much like a CCD unit failure. This will require another trip back for repairs and now that it is out of warranty it is going to cost plenty.

Can't viewb the LCD screen when shooting a picture! it's just black

The D60 works as SLRs have worked for half a century, showing the image in the viewfinder until you press the shutter. The LiveView feature which shows the image on the LCD screen is a rather recent development on DSLRs, unlike on point&shoot cameras. The D60 does not have this capability, which Nikon introduced with the D3 and D300.

Sorry if this wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

My camera's screen went blank just recently. It turns on and the screen icons come on but it seems there is no connectivity between the lens and screen.

Hi,

The black screen problem means the lens sensor is spoiled due to over exposure to heat. Its better to give it to Nikon service centre. If your camera is under warranty period its well and good they will replace the lens sensor for free of cost.

Thank you

My D90 LCD screen is not showing images nor lighting up. It is black.

Have you removed your lens cap? Have you turned it off? Does the small viewfinder work? if so go to the menu,,, not sure on your model if it has a separate button to turn it on and off, look in your manual for EVF

My screen keeps turning black

It's the lens that cause the problems. If parts are available, try replacing it.

Problem with lens

It is possible you have the display turned off... Some cameras allow you to do this to save battery.

Nikon coolpix 5700

at the back of the camera next to the view finder (bottom right hand corner) is a button and icon marked SEL. pressing this button toggles the lens image from the view finder to the lcd screen and back again. IF neither view is available then I suspect your camera needs some TLC at a repair shop. hope this helps.
