I have bought a used Husqvarna #1+ that has not been used for a few years. I have attached all power sources and I cannot get it to sew. When I turn it on, everything lights up fine but when I press the foot control to wind the bobbin, nothing happens.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any free sources of the manual. It is available here: http://www.sewingmanuals.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/Viking.htm . Scroll down to the 64th item in the list. You can also check with a Husqvarna Viking sewing machine dealer in your area.
I hope this helps.

(I know that many dealers can get the manual for you. I was able to get a manual for an older Bernina serger for a minimal fee a few years ago.)
Have you tried asking your Husqvarna dealer to help you out? They very likely would have the software available. Another place to try might be an online group specializing in Husqvarna embroidery machines e.g. Yahoo Groups. One of the members there might be able to assist you with a spare copy of the software disk. I can understand how frustrating these sorts of things can be. I've owned Husqvarna embroidery machines and software for about 15 years now and have experienced a few problems. However, be assured that other brands are not without their share of problems too. Husqvarna did make using their products somewhat awkward in those early years of embroidery machines, wanting to protect their property from being pirated and having to use the reader/writer and associated software was one of the prices to be paid. Technology has since moved on and these kinds of problems rarely occur these days. That's no comfort to you in your present predicament, I know, but your machine is a quality machine and worth getting it set up so it works for you the way it should. Good luck in sourcing a disk.
The Topaz 30 is a relatively new machine and should still be under Viking's warranty if you bought it new from an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. Suggest you take it back to an authorized dealer--preferably the one where you bought it. The machines have a 5 and 20 year warranty for parts, etc. Most dealers will give you a 6 months to 1 year warranty if you bought it from them. There have been a couple of software updates released for this model. You can find more information at the husqvarna viking website. By clicking on the "Dealer's" link you can find the nearest authorized dealer. http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
There are 3 main fixes for a freezing SE.
1> Have the latest 12501 update installed, the 12124 had a problem.
2> make sure you have the right hook (the 2 older hooks have this problem.
3> The newer tension assembly with the grounding strap needs to be in the SE as well.
4> there were only suppose to be 3 but if your screen gets weird when it freezes, it could be the video transformer
