Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

1 Answer

Recently had to replace card slot on my Ds lite as 1 of the kids shoved a card in the wrong way. Now normal games work fine but it wont recognise R4 card. It just goes to the system screen as if no card inserted. The R4 does work on another Ds so the card isnt faulty.

Hi - what type of slot did you use? was there a code on the metal back marked 09U or similar?
If so these are not suitable for flashcarts - if you need a suitable slot ( made for using flashcarts) contact me - www.dsdoctor.co.uk

How do I insert my r4 card?

the normal ds does work with the original ds, i have 3. lol. the r4 cart goes in the top of the ds in slot 1, it obviously about the same size as the r4 cart, have ur ds so it facinf downwards to the ground, and insert the game facing upwards so you can see the r4 wording on it, slot all way in until it clicks in, then power up.

Problem with r4 and ds lite

Try the paper shim trick first. It could be that the older NDSL's slot one contacts have become "sprung" and aren't making good contact.

Cut a piece of paper slightly narrower but longer than the R4. Put it on the non-contact side of the R4 and insert the R4 (with the paper on the back) into slot 1. It may increase the thickness of the R4 such that the slot 1 fingers now make contact.

Ds does not recognise R4

Try eject, blow into the port then reinsert. There is a possibility that your ds has blocked the r4 from being used on that ds.

Why don't you buy a R4 or Acekard, something that can go into the Slot-1 of the DS?
