I want to connect with my router, But I can't do it. My wireless router is right now working good can you help me ?

Hello It`s probably your wireless router that`s not working, or you could be too far away from the antenna.
Is the power supply working, for the router, are the cable set right, is the router on, are your internet connection working.

You can take the router, to a computer repair shop and let them test it.
The router must be connected like this:




But the wireless setup code for it, is different from one router to another.
If the wireless is working elsewhere, the pc is not the issue.

Download the newest firmware for that router (be sure to get the right version number, this is VERY important) and see if that helps. if it doesn't help, It sounds like you have a router that is going bad.

hi , Check whether your computer has N wireless or G wireless (could be G+N) is yes then also check whether is set to G mode - check the router is also set to G (N will be good if your router support ), check the channel on router (1,6 or 11) .
Main to check - everything will work only if and if you are able to see the wireless signals on your TV . If you are able to see the w/l network then try to connect with right password (network key if w/l is secure). if you are able to see the network key and not able to connect the above can help . More info like error message will help in sorting out the issue .

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

What is the Operating system on the laptop ?
If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

Just share the files on you Desktop to access or read the file in your Notebook or vice-versa. This can be done through the Router.

try this see if your firewall of your latop is turned on if it is on just turned it off..

Verified that the Internet connection is working good

- Now if your connected to the wireless network but unable to access a website try this:

- Open the control panel
- Open the network connection
- Right click on wireless networks (Choose properties)
- Choose Internet protocol then click properties
- Assign DNS Server address (Preferred DNS: 4.2.2.2, Alternate DNS: 4.2.2.3)
- Leave the DCHP as obtain IP address

1. Go to "Network Connection"
2. Click Right "Wireless Network Connection" Go "Properties"
3. Click at Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and click "Properties"
4. At General bar,. Click on Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically and Alternate Configuration bars, click Automatic private IP address
5. After all of this click "OK" and "Close"
6. wait for 30 second and try to connect again
   

Check the wireless switch is on, located somewhere on the laptop. Also Vista has an automated lan setup I believe, so try and refresh the IP and connect to the wireless router which default is the name of the brand usually. If that doesn't work you can right click on the lower right bar in Vista where there should be a symbol with waves or the like. it will bring up the wireless window and if you need help read the help file.

You haven't given enough detail for anyone to help.
Reset the router to defaults and go through the setup process very carefully, paying close attention to the details.
Don't set encryption until you have a good wireless connection.
