The closer you are to the subject, the less will be in focus. This can be a good thing as it can be used to separate the subject from the background. Also, when you get super close, you may need to set the camera in "macro" mode.

How to reduce blur on close-up LEGO figure photographs?

Lenses have a limited 'closeness' at which they will focus. That is, unless it is a macro lens, you cannot focus closer than a yard or so (it is different for each lens). look on the barrel for markings or easier yet, move your camera back until the subject is in focus.
If you have to be back 3 feet - take the shots and then crop to make them appear larger.

My pictures are coming out blur

With digital cameras, blurred photos are almost always a result of camera shake. You need to hold the camera still even after pressing the button, as there is often a short delay before the shutter fires.

Many digital cameras have a two-stage shutter press- first pressure causes the camera to focus, then the follow through pressure takes the picture. If you are rushing this, you may get unfocussed shots.

Finally, make sure that you have not left the camera in Macro mode. This is a special extreme close-up mode offered by some cameras, and it does not allow autofocus on objects at normal distances. The icon for Macro mode is a little flower.

After a few thousand really sharp pics, all of a sudden the shots are coming out slightly fuzzy, hardly noticeable at normal resolution, but especially evident when enlarged. Tried several different...

If the AF is set to release then the camera will release the shutter before focus is attained. Set it to focus only and see if it improves. Don't leave it like that, you will miss pictures.
Shoot some pictures with the center AF point only in single release and see if the focus is consistently landing in front of or behind what you wanted in focus. A penny on the sidewalk shot at a 45 degree angle in aperture priority with the lowest A number possible is a good quick one. For super fine tuning with a f2.8 or faster use a fuzzy plant branch like a tomato plant. If whats in focus is always in front of or behind what you focused on then you need too adjust the focus(back focus) in AF fine tune until it lands where it should. It's an annoying process that involves shooting, adjusting, shoot again, see if its better or worse, adjust, shoot and repeat. On zoom lenses use the middle on the zoom range because it will usually go from back to front focusing on the long and short end. The camera remembers each lens and the process must be repeated for each lens.
Last thing I can think of is the one that no one wants to hear and is most likely the problem, Camera Handling. People have a tendency to get sloppy after getting use to a camera. I have noticed that the VR lenses don't like people that stab the shutter button. It wants to remove fine vibration and a harsh stab makes it jump back to center and if the shutter opens at the same time it will put fine motion blur in the picture and looks out of focus.

Viewfinder of Sony DSC-H2 does not work anymore

Viewfinder has focus lever at bottom, please adjust viewfinder internal focus as per your eye sight looking on-screen display. Every thing will be fine after that.

Ixus 750 Blurred photos shot at a distance greater than a meter.

Check to see that the camera is not in "macro" mode, which would only allow focusing at a close range, but not allow focusing at beyond about 2 meters (look for the "flower" symbol to tell you that macro is activated). Could also be an out of adjustment lens, due to impact or force. Also check to make sure it's not as simple as a dirty lens. Digital cameras are more succeptable to blurry pictures from a smudged lens than film cameras were. Of course, that wouldn't explain why close shots are OK but distant ones aren't. Probably the first two suggestions.

Cybershot H7 focus problem

Things to check before you assume it is a mechanical issue-you can get vibration message if flash is disabled, be sure also that the macro mode is not enabled-this is very common on sony cameras to turn on by accident-flower button on camera will put in close up mode and you will get blur make sure no flower is present on lcd screen-if in macro press button on camera w/flower to turn off-also in menu you have continuous and monitor auto focus settings try changing one or the other and see what happens

Camcorder does not focus

I would check to see if your camcorder is set for autofocus or manual. If it got changed to manual by accident, that would explain it (you can USE manual, but you'll have to keep adjusting focus). If this isn't the problem I would take it to the dealer you got if from or a repair station.
