A blue screen or Blue Screen Of Death, BSOD, is generally caused by a corrupt driver or a bad software installation.
First, you need to determine the STOP code that is on that screen.

  • Start in safe mode, press F8 repeatably as the computer starts up,
  • check Disable automatic restart on system failure (This prevents Windows from automatically restarting if an error causes Windows to fail.)

OK, now the BSOD will stay there so you can determine what caused your problem. Report back the stop code and any information about a driver that caused the problem so we can be of further help.

Well, my computer sometimes starts up normally but sometimes when im in the middle of what im doing it turns to a black backround and a blue box shows in the center of the screen it says something about...

This is Probably the BSOD i.e. Blue screen of death error...
1. Uninstall any programs that you had installed recently. Sometimes, there is a conflict in drivers installed on your computer that causes the blue screen error to pop up. In most cases, this does not happen, but if it does, Windows provides you a roll back feature where you can bring your PC's operating system back to its original functioning state.
2. Random Access Memory is faulty. When the Random Access Memory is faulty, the PC stops functioning everytime that area of the RAM is accessed by the CPU. This causes your PC to halt almost at Random. A simple process of elminination is just to remove 1 stick of RAM and see if the problem goes away. If it does, your PC is fixed!
3. Registry Errors Over time, the registry of your windows gets cluttered with tons of information. If you experience slow down in your PC during boot up times, opening up of new folders, surfing windows, its likely your registry has a ton of information it needs to wade through. That being the case, its a good idea to get a good registry cleaner and improve the performance speed of your PC. Errors fixed in your registry can also prevent Blue screen error crashes.

Windows close and a blue page with white writing on comes up on screen, before you can read the fisrt line the computer starts in normal mode. it seems to work ok until the next time the same thing...

hi i have the solution to ur problem it's basically when ur windows file gets corrupted u will observe this sort of error message like what u have described a blue screen i recommend to install a fresh version of windows u can do this without losing any of ur critical data just follow these steps:
STEP 1:as soon as ur PC starts and u observe the logo on ur screen for e.x(INTEL,MERCURY) domething of this kind press F 8 immediately and u will see the next thing on ur screen is the PC asking to on ur system or load windows by providing some options select the option containing my msot recent settings that worked and ur windows will load surely without any blue screen error
STEP 2:as soon as ur windows will load try backing up ur critical data in a separate drive other than the drive containing ur windows files and folders and then install a fresh copy of windows or u can also repair ur previous windows using windows boot CD.
was this helpful to u if yes pls do rate my solution and thanks for visiting fixya.
NOTE: if the option u select do not work try other option specifying to load windows with all files and folders this will work sometimes but the above option works 99% perfect and if u face any problem just insert the windows boot CD and try repairing ur previous version of windows.
with warm regards-bonefirediv.

Gateway MT6707 Laptop...Will not boot. I get an error at start up to "fix problems or Start Windows Normally........I have tried both. Just gets to the screen That shows Gateway and Please...

You need to launch the Last know good configuration to get this fixed.

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: your PC will boot to the windows.

My computer starts to load and when it gets to the blue windows xp screen it stops and does not load into windows.

Turn off your computer by holding down the power button (10 sec.)
Turn the computer back on and Hold down the F8 button at the top of your keyboard, until the start up menu shows, Then select "Last known Configuration that worked"
If that does work you can repeat the steps and try system restore if you have it enabled.
If still unable to load you would need service, or to reinstall windows
