Sony wega KF-50WE610 went dark...

Had my tv about 4 years. A few nights ago we heard a "click" and it shut down. (flashing light). We can still get sound, but no picture. Assuming I need to replace the bulb, but how do I know? I hate to spend $200 on a bulb and have that not fix the problem.

Suggestions?

Thank You...I had this same Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE610 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television for four yrs now.....finally just last evening. I have no picture nor sound the power button blinks five or six times and then the LAMP indicator ( located under the power button) light blinks red several times before a solid red light back on the power button.

IS this a LAMP replacement or a Bulb?
    Thank you,
    Whyte23

If you have not changed the lamp in the 4 years you have had the tv you will need one soon if not now. is sound from tv or receiver, when the lamp dies usually no sound from tv. If you have sound from the tv try unpluging power from wall to reset and try again

Some of the ICs on the power supply block are damaged. This can possibly due to high voltage or defective IC. What you can do now is to get a new PS block. If you can get me the part number i can help you find it..

SONY GRAND WEGA KF-50WE610 can't turn on TV screen.

Ths 5 blinks usually indicate an AKB problem. There is a break in the video path. I'll look up your specific model and post the results here. Please update this if you wish to attempt the repair yourself.

Thanks,
Dan

Sony KF-50WE610 no picture?

4 blinks = No Vert. Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505.
