Hi blackie - I could tell you how to do it but I believe it is easier if you look at the manual with the pictures. Below you'll find a link for your manual. After clicking on the link just click on manual for MP5610 next to the red dot. It's in English and Spanish but it's ok to read it. I believe you want pages 9 and 10 for the menu and the clock. If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks.

KD-R805 does not store clock settings

first of all you must be able to check out a few things like do you know how to set your clock for the kd-r805. if you can check to see if you set your clock and set your presets for radio station to be saved. set your clock and set all your station presets once done. Once you have done that turn off the car wait about 60 seconds then turn your car back on to power up the radio and see what happens to your clock and presets . if your clock and presets are not still saved this means that who ever did the radio install has the yellow memory wire connected to switch ignition and not constant battery wire from the factory harness. have someone fix it. If the clock and station presets are still save then it was that you don't know how to program the clock.. how to program your model radios clock .......

STEP 1 : TURN ON POWER TO RADIO

STEP 2 : PRESS AND HOLD MENU UNTIL THE MAIN MENU IS SHOW ON RADIO SCREEN PRESS AND TURN THE VOLUME KNOB TO MOVE THROUGH THE MENU ( YOU MUST CANCEL THE DEMO FIRST TO BE ABLE TO PROGRAM THE CLOCK).
STEP 3: TO SET THE CLOCK SELECT THE CLOCK IN THE MAIN MENU SETTING ROTATE THE VOLUME KNOB AND PRESS IT ONCE TO SELECT THE CLOCK SETTING.

STEP 4: ADJUST THE HOURS AND THEN PRESS THE VOLUME KNOB TO MOVE ON TO THE SECONDS .
STEP 5 : THEN SELECT 12HR OR 24HR TO BE DISPLAYED
STEP 6 : RETURN TO THE PREVIOUS MENU BY HITTING (BACK BUTTON)
STEP :7 TO EXIT SETUP OR MENU HIT THE (MENU BUTTON)

HOW DO I CHANGE THE TIME

    • 1

Refer to the section of your owner's manual that addresses the car radio. Each car radio is different in the way you set the clock. If you've installed a car radio other than the one that was manufactured with the car, consult the manual for that radio.

    • 2

Know that if this is the first time you're setting the clock or are setting the clock after installing a new battery in your car, you have to set the hour and the minute of time. Often, you set the clock with either the radio station up or down arrows. On some car stereos, you use the CD track selector buttons for setting the clock.

    • 3

Using either the CD or radio selector buttons, set the hour first. Push the button labeled "Set" or "Clock" and then set the minute with the same procedure. When setting the minute, some manufacturers allow you to move through in increments of five by pressing and holding the button. If the time of day were 2:49 p.m., for example, you would push the button 13 times, including nine times to display :45, then four additional times incremented by one to display :49. Push the "Set" button or the "Clock" button.

    • 4

Determine whether your car stereo is equipped to automatically change when Daylight Saving Time begins and ends. If it hasn't changed at 2 a.m. of the time-changing date, you know it isn't equipped for this. In that case, set the hour either forward or backward and the appropriate time of the year.

    • 5

If you can't figure out how to set the clock on your car stereo, wait until noon on any given day, disconnect your car battery and reconnect it.

Emerson Smartset Clock Radio

For the Clock/Radios that are having problems with the clock display and settings. You will have to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio from the wall outlet and remove the internal battery. You must let the Clock/Radio set with no power for at least 1 hour to discharge the microprocessor circuits. The microprocessor should then be able to reset itself. You can then reinsert the battery and plug the Clock/Radio into the a/c wall outlet. The functions should have reset and be working normally. If this does not solve the problem, try putting in a new battery (CR2430). Before putting in the new battery, unplug the clock radio and remove the old battery and let it set again for a few hours this time to try to reset the microprocessor. If this does not solve the problem (This includes the person with the complete Clock/Radio operation failure) you can call the Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio. Tell them the problems you are having with the operation of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance. I hope this information helps you solve the problems your are having with your Clock/ Radios.
