When I change both the black and color cartridges, a message about alignment pops up and doesn't let me proceed.....what should I do? I have tried taking out the cartridges and putting them back in but nothing....the message stays.

Access the printer maintenance applications and run thru the printer alignment... it's not a physical alignment as much as a software alignment... Run thru the program and simply follow the instructions. Check under the print command and see if you can access the printer utilites that way.

I ran out of both black and color ink. I replaced the black ink b/c I do not print in color. But I cannot complete the alignment steps without the color ink.

Lexmark printers usually require both cartridges to have ink left in them to continue printing. But try to press the Cancel button for the Alignment process (this is not recommended). Then try to print a document again to verify that you are able to continue printing without an empty color ink.
If that doesn't help, I would suggest you replace your color cartridge with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge.

Message says printer ink low. left cartridge in

You need to carry out alignment to correct the left cartridge, go to the setup on the printer, under maintenance, you will see align cartridge, perform this exercise to align the black and color cartridge and see if it will still prompt this message.

Compliments and wish you best of luck

Hp 6150 won't print clearly --new cartridges are in

Clean the print head if you suspect that the nozzles might be clogged. Cleaning the print head consumes ink, so perform print head cleaning only when necessary.

Hope this initial info/idea helps.

When I change the black ink cartridge, the alignment page and instruction page are printing out fine. When I place the alignment page on the glass as instructed and press 'ENTER', the printer gives a...

I just had the same issue (align page not detected).

We had just re-installed the empty color cartridge back into the printer (long story but basically we knew we could only print B/W).

The align page printout had a lot of empty spaces around the black lines. This is apparently where the color lines are supposed to print.

Without those color lines, the printer would not detect the align page as color is part of the alignment being done.

Since we only wanted black printouts, I pressed 'cancel' to stop the alignment process, and now we just hit the Black copy button and ignore the alignment prompt on the printer window.

The HP site (enter psc750 in product window) has some helpful ideas as to what the problem might also be. It could be the shipping tape is still on the new cartridge (and preventing the black or color from printing on the align sheets) etc.

Align cartridges error

This means one of the cartridges is defective, they cant align if they cant print.  What i did to fix this problem is insert 2 working cartridges and get it to align properly, even if they are low on ink, then lift the cover and the cartridges will move to the center.  When this happens pull the power cable out, then insert the full non functioning cartridge. Plug the power cable back in.  I tried this with a color cartridge, the color cartridge was non functioning but i was able to print in black.
Basically you align the cartridges and then swap them so the printer thinks they are still aligned.
The color still doesnt work and it is probably a defective color cartridge.

Remove and check color cartridge

try this. worked for me. when installing the cartridge, put one finger under the cartridge and hold upward pressure as you closed the green plastic cover. problem is the pins on the cartridge and the pins on the printer are not aligning properly by relying on the spring to do it. this will help to align the pins and should make it work.
