I have lost digital reception. I can play DVDs and get analogue TV.

Check your aerial connection.
Ifit is combined digital/analogue set put it back to digital, white screen used to indicate analogue reception. There is no analogue broadcasting here anymore, only digital. The option should be on your remote.

I doubt it has a digital tuner but the owner manual should show that or Google the model number.

You have probably found out now that you would need to get your digital reception by connecting a set top box to the LG, say to AV1, then select AV1 when making a recording.

this is a fault of your digital tuner on the mainboard on some models they can be replaced alone others you may need to replace the whole board

I would guess that you are using either cable or satellite for reception. If that is the case, the signal is already a "digital" one. The digital reception you are attempting to receive is the over-air broadcast signal that was implemented recently. This change-over only effected those using external antenna connections. Cable and satelite systems have not changed.

all analogue signals going out means EVERY analogue signal is gone in the TV band. these are now apparently assigned to emergency services in some states.

Hi, Your Tv does indeed have an analog tuner for UHF and VHF reception. Remember you need to have an external antenna connected to receive anything via the analog input. On your remote in the upper right hand corner is a button labeled tv/dtv that will switch back and forth between your analog and freeview digital. Good Luck, this should Fixya!

have you got both cables going into your video ?? if not you need a video splitter to input both the digital and analogue aerials then have a coaxial cable going to the tv

you need to unlpug your set and reconnect everything over and see what it does.if that does not work have a tech check your system.your sony recviever is the culprit let that be checked.good luck
