Behringer neutron - I installed the Win USB driver and the Firmware update was ok. Unfortunately, after that update, the Neutron wasn´t recognised in the DAW anymore so I can send no Midi to the synth

I assume you have the neutron connected to the computer via a USB cable. Right? What kind of cable are you using between the neutron and the workstation? Will the neutron play midi coming from the computer? Does it interface with Band in the Box or a software sequencer (Logic, etc)?

How can I send recordings to my laptop? I have a usb connector and i want to connect my portable grand to my laptop but the laptop does not detect the piano and i don't know what to press on the piano...

Hi mjaynneb,

I could be wrong here but I have a number of keyboards and the USB connection is usually for Midi control from software like Cubase and the like. If by recording you mean recording Audio then I think you'll find that it won't be possible using the USB port.

Midi is great and I use it a lot. It enables you to arrange music using your computer. Also you can record the music you play on the Keyboard on the computer as Midi. This means that the computer can play back through your arranger what you just played. Bear in mind though that Midi is purely numbers that represent notes, velocities and note duration so is not actually audio.

My keyboards have the ability to record to SD card or a Hard Drive, however if this is not a feature of your arranger then probably your best bet for recording audio from it is by using the Audio out ports of your arranger and using a connecting lead to a good low noise sound card on your computer. As you are using a laptop you can find external usb sound cards/interfaces so that should do fine. Then you could probably use something like Audacity which is free software, to record to a wav file.

I hope this helped.
Kind Regards

I've just bought a us-800 and installed everything correctly, including the updated driver and it works with media player etc, and on it's own but when i try to use it with cubase 5 nothing happens! i've...

Steinberg software requires an ASIO driver in order to utilize audio interfaces, whereas Windows Media Player uses a WDM driver I believe. I would start by looking for the ASIO driver for your specific hardware interface (or even use a universal ASIO driver) and see if it is detected then...google should help you find what you're looking for :)

I would expect that to work fine. I have used several USB to Midi adapters with good results.

Mac Driver for Dream Cheeky USB Roll-Up piano

I got one of the drum kits last Christmas, but I have a Mac. Finally, this Christmas, I got around to writing a driver for it. I mean, why not? It runs in Terminal and translates the drumkit hits to MIDI messages which you can use to control GarageBand or Logic or send out a MIDI interface to control MIDI hardware. Doesn't have any of the fancy learning modes or anything, though; just lets you play it. Email mail_ben_schmidt at yahoo com au if you're interested. I doubt it would take much modification to get it to work with the piano, which I expect works on exactly the same principles. But I don't have a piano, so I would need to collaborate with someone or have one lent or donated to me to do that.
