The cold water trickles while filling the washer tub. Warm and hot water run fine. I have removed the cold water hose from the machine, removed and cleaned the screen, and reinstalled the hose. Cold water ran fine for about 3 or 4 days, and now I have the cold water trickling into the washer tub again. I looked at the screen and I didn't see any problems. What should I try next? Thanks

Very little hot water runs in tub

you either have a problem with the house water supply going to the washer and you can remove the hot water hose from the washer, first shut down the water, stick the end of the hose inside the washer and turn the water supply back on,if the water comes out normal then you have a bad water valve on the back of the washer.call your parts store and give them the full model number off of the washer, open the lid, follow it down to the bottom and right under the bottom of the lid you'll see the model number

Cold water trickles into the tub while it is being filled up

The hot and cold water supply hoses that connect the washer from the water supply faucets on the wall to the water connections on the back of the clothes washer usually have filter / sediment screens within there connection fittings at the end of the hoses, these will collect dirt, sand, calcium deposits, etc.,when they trap enough of these materials they will plug up and restrict the flow of water into the clothes washer. Turn off the water faucets at the wall, and you should do this for both hot and cold hoses, disconnect the hoses from the washer and the water faucets, look into the hose ends and pull out the screens and clean them out by running water and what ever you can use to clean them completely!!!!!
Now look inside the water connections on the back of the clothes washer, where you screw the hoses on the washer, and check to see if there are filter screens in there, if there is, remove them and clean out completely also, then reverse the removal process and reconnect the hoses, makeing sure to connect the hot and cold hoses to the right connection on the back of the clothes washer!!
Try filling the washer with water to see if you have corrected the problem.
Make sure hot and cold hoses are correct on the back of the washer!!!!
GOOD LUCK !!!!!!

Won't fill with hot or warm water . hot and warm only come out in a trickle. cold water is the water that works normally

Turn off water supply valve behind washer and remove the supply hose from both ends. Look for a screened washer in the hose, which can be removed, cleaned, and re-inserted. Also, look for a screen to do the same with inside where the hose screws onto the machine. Re-attact hoses and turn water valves back on. Make sure hoses are not kinked behind machine.

I can't get the cold water to fill the tub/rinse. the hot works.

Your problem is either a clogged COLD fill valve or a bad water fill valve. Turn the water off. Remove the COLD hose from the WASHER. Check the filter screen inside the valve for sediment. If you find sediment, remove the screen and clean it. Replace the screen and turn the water back on. If you do not find sediment on the screen, replace the water valve.

Rinse water barely trickles out of my washer

Do you fill the machine with hot water only?

If so, this is what I suspect. The filters in the inlet hoses on the back of the washer need cleaning. Remove the garden hose connectors, remove filter, clean, replace.

When filling with hot only you get a lot of pressure thru one hose. When you rinse, the best you can do pressure-wise is cold rinse -- but the cold water filter is going to be more clogged than the hot so it delivers less water.

When you use warm rinse, you get mediium pressure thru both lines, again less water than al hot on filling the machine.

HOT WATER WON'T FILL TUB

most inlet water hoses have screens in them.  You could remove the hose from the back of the washer and see if there is water flow.   If there isn't, the hot water valve assembly is defective.  These are solenoid operated valves that admit water into the tub.  They can be accessed behind the washer after you remove the back.

I have the washer on cold water, but it runs warm, stops, trickles, then comes out warm again, stops, trickles, then warm again ect.On the rinse cycle it will only trickle out.

The water fill valve - The water fill valve is a mechanical and electrical part, the coils on the valve need electricity to mechanically open the valve to allow the water to flow into the washer....myth....the washer pumps water into itself...no, it does not. The fill valve opens and the house water pressure pushes the water into the washing machine.
No cold water or no hot water - The fill valve has two coils, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. It is possible that one of the coils can fail and you loose that filling ability. If the cold water coil quits, the hot will still work and during warm fill you will get hot water only and during a cold fill you will get no water at all. If the hot coils quits, you will still have cold water fill, cold water only on a warm setting and no water on a hot fill setting. You can test a fill valve live for 120 volts, power to a fill valve coil and no fill = a bad fill valve. You can also test the coils for continuity, no continuity = a bad fill valve. Some Maytag washers have a fuse in the fill valve circuit, if this fuse let go the washer will not fill. Fill valves can also from time to time stick open and not stop filling. If you have to shut off the fill valves to stop the water from filling in the washer, you have a bad fill valve and you will have to replace it.
