Do batteries have to be replaced often? I bought my weed eater last summer and it did fine. I find it isn't holding the charge this year.

If not holding charge the battery is definitely bogus. Proper battery recharging procedures and habits must be employed to prolong battery life. There are batteries that do not like being left in an uncharged position - causes them to die prematurely. Follow instructions with new battery to prolong life as much possible.

Prolong Your GPS Battery Life

Are you tired of having to keep your GPS plugged into the car for the entire duration of your drive? Does it die out instantaneously after removing it from it's jack? If it does, there nothing you can do to fix it because the battery had over heated and lost its battery life tremendously. I can only say that you would need to purchase a new one.
However, if your GPS doesn't die out right away, here's your chance to start prolonging its life. First, let it completely die out by turning it on, and leaving it on until it the batteries run out of charge. Second, plug the dead GPS into either a house outlet, or a car jack (if you are using the car jack, make sure the car is on!!!). Third, wait for the GPS to reach full capacity, but DO NOT let it overcharge, it kills the battery. So I recommend checking on the charging GPS periodically at even intervals of your choice. When it is done, just unplug it, and it is good to go.
NOTE: Do not charge the GPS in while in use.NOTE: If the battery is low as you are driving, turn it off and plug it in to charge.Explanation: This is why the steps above the notes are to be taken to prolong the life of your GPS' battery. 1 Complete Charge + 1 Complete Drain = 1 Charging Cycle

I have an 03 Chev malibu. I just put a new battery in it. She won't start without a boost.runs fine afterwards.if I let her sit for a bit I will need a boost again..please help

New battery could be faulty or alternator not working.
If nothing happens when you turn the key,to check battery to determine its state of charge. Many starters won't do a thing unless there is at least 10 volts available from the battery. A low battery does not necessarily mean the battery is the problem, though. The battery may have been run down by prolonged cranking while trying to start the engine. Or, the battery's low state of charge may be the result of a charging system problem. Either way, the battery needs to be recharged and tested. If the battery is low, the next logical step might be to try starting the engine with another battery or a charger. If the engine cranks normally and roars to life, you can assume the problem was a dead battery, or a charging problem that allowed the battery to run down. If the battery accepts a charge and tests okay, checking the output of the charging system should help you identify any problems there.

Prolong cellular battery life

Always allow your mobile phone's battery to drain before charging it. Let it warn "battery low" at least three times before you can charge. charging in-between before battery is drained, shortens the battery life gradually.
this is from a personal experience.

About the battery duration of nokia 6233

Hi if you mean your battery isnt lasting long then you can buy a heavy duty battery for your phone from any phone shop but these can be expensive to buy.

The best way to prolong the life of your battery is to let it go totally flat once a month so flat that the phone wont even try switching on then do a full recharge doing this prolongs the life of the battery and will give your phones battery longer charge.

All phones are advised to do this as it keeps the battery in best condition and stops it from breaking down

Cellular modem

A cellular modem increases the current demand placed on the main battery shortening the battery life. To prolong the life of the battery and ensure reliable operation it is highly recommended that you use the either the Extended Life battery (NEC Part # OP-MP9-EXTBATT) or a mobile charger (NEC Part # OP-MP9-AUTOADP) while traveling between customer sites.
