Where can I find an explanation of Acer keyboard symbols and their use I have the Aspitre 7736-4088 laptop and I want an explanation of the various blue symbols

Get a cooling for for a 7530G and install that.

First, try removing the battery and unplugging the laptop. While still unplugged and with the battery still out, press the power button for 30 seconds or so (this will release the static electricity inside). Then put the battery back in and start it up again. This is called a hard reset, and it will fix a number of problems.

That is not good, no doubt the voltage and currents were higher than the original design called for, and if the charger was putting out AC instead of DC worse still. Normally when this happens the motherboard is toast and replacement is the only option.

Press your FN key.
If you look at your Keyboard on a laptop you'll see that certain keys have more than 1 symbol on them.
The FN key brings these secondary symbols to life as live keys and pressing it again will restore original function to the keyboard.

Hold the "Fn" key while pressing one of your symbol keys.

What language or locality have you chosen for your system?
US keyboards have @ on the shift 2 key
Various other keyboards have " for shift 2 - these include various European and Latin American layouts. You need to specify a locale that matches your hardware.

It is either a software issue or you have the wrong keyboard installed on your laptop.

The symbols on the keys represent what will appear on screen

If the symbol is in blue that means you have to press the FN key over on the left side bottom row

Other symbols from the keyboard are typed by using the shift key

You can always buy a keyboard and plug it into the laptop if it proves to difficult
