My Sanyo PLV-Z4 has had a replacement bulb (twice in case it was a bulb malfunction) but still flashes amber to replace the bulb and closes down immediately. How can I reset the bulb timer if it won't even turn on in the first instance?

Remove the screws that have the -> symbol, carefully remove the top cover, then at the bottom right side, if your lense is pointing away from you, is a little switch, that you push down, its circular.
Push that down, and then put everything back, and it should power up

Thanks for the post. The following details are a little more helpful in the process:

1 - Remove the three screws with the arrow indicators from the bottom of the unit.
2 - Remove the three screws from the input side of the unit (1 of the screws is shorter so be sure to replace it in the same spot)
3 - Slide the top cover of the unit up, careful because there are a group of wires connected to it
4 - There is a black button with a white top in the bottom right quadrant of the PJ (assuming the unit is facing away from you), it has 2 wires connected to it
5 - Press the button and hear a soft click
6 - The thermostat has now been reset
7 - Replace the cover and screws and enjoy.

Sanyo plv z4

look in the projector menu ( should not be backwards) and switch the view to front projection. It might be set in rear projection. That is what my viewsonic PJ-558 projector can do sometimes

Sanyo plv z4 shuts down

call sanyo tech department and they will help you increase the fan speed to cool the unit. This is done with the remote so it was pretty easy. Make sure your filters are very clean first (use compressed air or a co2 canister. Have not had a problem since, my units run on average 8 hours a night and have not shut down.
