I have a JVC tv model AV 27495. I hooked it to the cable with the cable cord. I can only get cable 2 channel. I can't access any channels. What do I need to hook into the cable? Do I need a box since this TV is a 1989 version? I had it on Direct TV and it worked fine without a separate box. Is it different with cablevision?

Yes, with the Direct TV box it did all the tuning and your TV had only to be on one channel, normally ch 3 or ch 4. Now that it is not there any more your TV tuner must do the work. You now will have to tell the TV to search for channels. Use your remote and TV menu to do this. You will be able when the search is complete to see some of the cable channels but other premium cable channels you won't be able to see without a cable box.

Can you hook up a super nes without AV cords? I have 2 cords, 1 is power and 1 connects to an antenna-like input.. do you need AV cords aswell??

It is called an RF connector.Plug your cable coming into the house from outside into the RF connector, then plug the RF connector into the TV.The TV needs to be on channel 3 or 4,depending on what it is set on the console,to use the console. There should be a selector on the console back.If there is a strong broadcast on the channel you select to use, just change to the other channel. If you have the proper channel, the TV signal will go away and the game will appear. You do not need the A/V cables.

I AM ON CABLE. MY JVC AV-36150 PICTURE IN FINE ON

You`re probably getting a on air channel which means that you have to check your cable connectors and splitter if you got any, switch with other sets if you can.

I HAVE A MAGNAVOX TV MODEL 255102-OODD, A MOTOROLLA (VERIZON) SET TOP BOX MODEL QIP2400/1006 AND A JVC DVD MODEL DR-MV150BJ. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE HOOK-UPS SUGGESTED BY JVC AND STILL CONNOT GET A PICTURE. ...

ok, The issue will be in the sequence you have things connected. The connections sequence is going to be controlled by what connections are available. I assume the Set Top controller is connection to your Antennea connection on the TV. Your TV should be on channel 3 or 4. The next step depends on what type of connectors you are using for the JVC DVD. I have an Antennea output on mine so I connected them in series. If you don't have an Antennea output from teh DVD player you will need to connect the DVD using Audio/Video cables which means you will need to connect to the TV alternate Source connector and to watch DVD's you will need to change to that source. Much like you would switch between regular TV and VCR tape on a VCR player connected to the Antennea connector.

I have a jvc tv model av27530. Disconnected cable box b/c going

You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.

If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.

Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.

JVC television-lost old remote-have universal /can't add channels

I don't have an answer for your question.

However, I do have a suggestion. You can hook up a vcr to your tv, then put the tv on channel 3 or 4 (whichever the vcr is set for) and change the channels through your vcr. You have to have the cable go first to your vcr and then out to the tv.
