3 x 9 indicates that the minimum magnification is 3 times normal, and the maximum is 9 times normal. The last number (40) indicates a 40mm objective lens (the one furthest away from your eye). This is an indicator of the scopes ability to gather light from the environment. The larger the objective lens, the better it can gather light, and the brighter the view appears.

Leupold 3x9x40 vari-xIIc on BAR30-06. Adjusted windage as far to the right as possible and I'm still 6-8 inches off center. 12 year old scope been dead on till the middle of this season.

from my experience owning a bar they tend to lose accuracy badly after a lot of rounds are put through them especially if they are shot rapid fire style allot ( the barrel gets very hot and i am also not impressed with how the barrel is attached to the receiver) i shot mine until it just would not shoot accurately at all. (i sold it). its possible that your scope or mounts are loose defective or there may be a screw that may be broken under the mounts that you cant see.

My Bushnell Banner rifle scope 3x9x40 ia at max elevation and shoots low The scope is used on a marlin 1894c underlever rifle and attached to a weaver rail how can i fix this problem

you might be able to buy a weaver rail adapter that can change your elevation aswell as lift up your scope a bit just to make it a bit easier to see out of. try something like this maybe http://ant-supplies.co.uk/DovetailtoWeaverAdapters.aspx

Who makes these shooters edge scopes

I heard Shooters Edge was made by Bushnell but can't confirm it. For those having problems with their scopes, we have had none. I bought a 3x9x40 and a 10x18x40, both are mounted on .22 rifles that my son and I target shoot with. Both are holding a good zero.

Not a problem but need operation instruction for my scope. Its a tasco pronghorn 3x9x40 with adjustable yardage and has two elavation cross hairs,I have had it for many years and it works perfect, but I have...

I believe the second cross hair in your scope relates to an 18 inch dimension, or that of a deer. When you adj the wire to the body of a deer, it will be the distance, I'm not sure if you have to do the math, or the scope does it for you. Some scopes, you had to figure the hold over by the distance in the scope. others would be set to shoot at that distance. I would ave to look that one for you to be sure, but that is the idea. Hope this helps.

Scope for ruger 10/22 carbine

Google SWFA ......they sell about 20 different brands of riflescopes, with pix, desriptions and prices. It's a good source for info, even if you decide to buy one of the same scopes at Walmart. Check out the Bushnell Trophy, Nikon Prostaff, and Tasco scopes, in particular.

Also, there is a website I belong to, originally started just for the Ruger 10/22 owners/fans. You can visit it and join for free at - www.RimfireCentral.com
We have a great bunch of guys and gals there, who can help you with questions on ANY type rimfire rifle. I'm sure you will love this site.
