I need to purchase spare parts

Didn't fix the problem. Part not available so duck tape will have to do until I'm forced into another camera. I like this camea but both Fuji's I purchesed had the same problem with a door. The other was the battery door where the tabs that kept the door closed chipped off so the door would not stay closed.
I will not purchse another Fuji.

Most fuji cameras use xD cards, I have had similar problems with my Fuji, and had to use a repair program to fix the issue. Once corrupt, no amount of coaxing will fix them. You can get the software at:

If you don't have any critical pictures, then buy a new xD card. But if you have important or sentimental photos buy the program from them. It works fantastic! Thanks for using Fixya!

I would see if Fuji would let you send it in direct to them. Alternatively search on ebay for spares or repair camera that you could take the pieces off of.

The trick is remembering how you dis-assembled so you can re-assemble.
Purchase or borrow another camera and photograph each step.
Buy a plastic tray with little compartments in and start at 1 end and then work back when assembling.

THIS SOUNDS LIKE A MEMORY CARD PROBLEM. LOOK INTO THE SLOT WHERE THE CARD GOES AND CHECK THE PINS TO SEE IF THEY ARE ALL STRAIGHT AND EVEN. BE SURE THE CARD IS WELL SEATED WHEN YOU INSTALL IT AND THAT THE CARD ISN'T DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. TRY SWITCHING CARDS AND USE A DIFFERENT CARD TO SEE IF THIS STOPS THE PROBLEM. YOU CAN GET A CARD CHEAPLY ON EBAY OR AMAZON OR WAL-MART ETC. IT IS POSSIBLE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CARD THAT IS CAUSING THE MEMORY TO DROP. THIS IS USUALLY CAUSED BY SOME CHANGE IN CURRENT OR A SHORT. I WOULD TRY A DIFFERENT CARD. IT IS A EASY SOLUTION AND YOU CAN ALWAYS USE THE SPARE CARD. HOPE THIS HAS GIVEN YOU SOME HELP. try a different store - its a common problem with this camera and larger stores might have the parts in stock it cost me $40 on the spot

I have the same problem. I contacted Chicco customer services and they put me in touch with "Stork Talk" 0115 9306700 who proved replacement ones at 15 pounds including delivery, bit pricey I thought but I can't find any other provider!

You are correct Camera spares are a joke - there are none Do what you did before. or use gaffer tape if the latch does not operate a 'Door open Switch' If it does then ram a matching in to kid it is shut then gaffer tape it.
