SOURCE: how to change (or update) wap to wpa encryption on ASUS WIFI-B Network Adapter

With this Asus wireless B adapter even the new driver dont support WPA wireless security , because right now sicne WPA is a much newer and higher type of wireless encryption only some wireless B adapter supports that and sorry to say this wireless adapter that you have don't support it even with the latest driver so it will be better to get a new wireless G adapter that supports WPA 100% , you can get the wireless adapter from Asus or from other wireless device manufacturer like Linksys, Netgear. Dlink and Belkin....

SOURCE: can't load wua 2340 driver

Here is the correct driver install package, download the zip file to your desktop, then double click the zip file to get to the setup.exe file for the dlink adapter, first it may ask you if you want to remove the driver and all its components, say yes, go ahead remove all previous dlink drivers. Then, after the driver is gone(look in your program list to make sure its gone), doubleclick the exe file again to install the driver correctly, insert your usb adapter when prompted to. You are better off using this dlink adapter with an external base with a usb extension cable so you can mount in by your window(to catch the networks)
I am using it right now (wua-2340), it comes in low, but with a fast download speed even fast enough to stream video or audio.

click on link below(if you can't, copy and paste the link into your IE or furefox, hit enter
the driver date for vista and win xp is from 2008-

I have a D-Link DIR-825 router and a D-link WUA-2340 adapter. The adapter is plugged into a windows xp desktop. My problem is that the adapter is only running at 54mbps when the box clearly says...

The D-Link WUA-2340 is an 802.11g adapter. This means that 54mbps is the fastest that it can run. It is backward compatible with the 802.11b standard which runs at 11mbps. However, it is not forward compatible to 802.11n. You need to get the DWA series from D-Link (I'm guessing you have a preference for D-Link). This should run your D-Link DIR-825 at 100mbps +.

I lost my wzc but was able to retrieve it from driver disk snce then it just wont install

WZC is a module of the Windows(R) operating system. It is a service that is provided by Win XP and Win 2000 Service Pack 4. If you hav lost WZC, you need to re-install the operating system completely. But if you see that WZC has stopped. I can help you to start the same. Here is how:
Start > Run > now here, type "services.msc" > Services (Local)

Now at the Services (Local) page, at the bottom of the page if you try scrolling down you may find, Wireless Zero Configuration. If you click on that, you may find buttons like Stop, Restart, or Start. Click on Start or Restart and make use of WZC on your computer!

Thanks..

Uninstall WIN XP PRO UPGRADE

Unfortunately you cannot "Uninstall an Upgrade" - Do you refer "Upgrade to SP2/ SP3 or WIN98 or WIN2000 to WIN XP? Please clarify? Regardless - you will have to reformat your PC and purchase a new license key as you have used the one on another PC or you should void the license on that PC and use it on the original PC.
In short unless you do not use the license key or purchase a new one, your PC will not log-in after 30 days and you will then have to activate again using telephonic assitance (if you modem and internet connection were no configured before the end of you activation period. There is now Un-install function. Sorry.
