You need to count the number of blinks between the pause. Most common is 9 blinks. Also- after you press POWER, do you hear a "click" or not? If no click and 9 blinks, you probably have a "zero cross failure" and have two options:

(1) Replace the "G" board (part # A1054157A) or have it repaired (they repair it on eBay for about $40. You ship them the bad board and they either repair and return or ship you a different repaired board) A new board costs about $80- without having to send them your board.

(2) Repair the board yourself- by replacing the two diodes on the "G" Board - (D6301 which is on top- by the small transformer) and (D116 which is an SMT component on the bottom of the board- it takes VERY steady hands and a good solder iron). The parts should cost less than $25 and are available on eBay by searching for "sony a1054157a".

My Sony wega tv won't turn on goes into standby red light blinks 10 times then shuts off?

Look at the owner manual as the 10 blinks is a error code or Google the model number to locate that information--Sony error codes are general and often misleading.

I would if looking at the set inspect the lamp first.

Sony kp-51ws520 when turned on just has standby light flashing . the rest is all dead, no picture or voice.

Standby flashing light shows that tv got some internal problem. How many times standby light is flashing is info that provide info about what section of tv got problem.
Count standby light blinks and let me know, there would be 3 seconds long pause in blinks so count pause to pause.

Screen will begin turning blue, then go black and standby timer light blinks 8x in sequence. I can repower and screen will come back on temporarily. Tv may work for days then suddenly start doing again....

hello ,Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.
