Ca I shot images with the date inserted on DSC W170?

Photos for digital camera are automatically date stamped. To view the information in Windows, right click the photo you would like to know the time of, and press 'Properties.' Selects the 'Details' tab. And you should be able to find the date in there.

Unfortunately you can't. The DSC-W170 is designed to store images (and videos) to memory, not to stream live video to another device.

Sorry that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. To print this, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

For DSCW150, you can use the supplied Picture Motion Browser Software to insert the Date and Time on the images.

When you download it to your computer, right-click the image and choose "rename"...type in whatever you want.

You can use the supplied Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software to insert the Date on the images and then print the images with date.

Follow these steps to insert the date using PMB software:

1. Start the Picture Motion Browser software.
2. In the Picture Motion Browser window, browse to the folder directory that contains the images.
3. Click to select the desired image.
4. On the menu bar , click Manipulate .
5. On the Manipulate drop-down menu, click View/Edit Media File .
6. In open window, click the Edit icon.
7. In the Edit drop-down menu, click Insert Date .
8. In the Insert Date window, next to Display format , click the down arrow .
9. Click to select the desired date or time format.
10. Next to Color , click to select the desired color for the inserted date or time.
11. Next to Position , click the down arrow .
12. Click to select the position on the image you want the date or time to be inserted.
13. Click the OK button.
14. Close the image window.
15. In the Picture Motion Browser dialog box, click the Save button to save the image with the inserted date or time.
16. Click the Yes button to replace the original image with the newly-created image displaying the date or time.

The Focus may not work normally if:

* Twilight mode or Landscape mode or Fireworks mode is selected in the screne Selection when shooting still images.
* The Focus preset function is selected. Select the auto Focus mode.

Try Initializing the Camera as follows (Initializing the Camera will reset the settings of the Camera to the factory settings including date and time. It will not delete any data saved in the Camera):

Press the Home button on the Camera. Then, select the SETTINGS -> MAIN SETTINGS -> MAIN SETTINGS 1 -> INITIALIZE -> OK.

If issue persists try Power reset the Camera by removing the battery from the Camera and inserting it after 1 minute.

If the issue still persists then Service may requires to resolve it.

use format option because hidden photos camera cannot read computer can read so better format the card

This camera does not need software to transfer images or music, try the method listed at Sony website, if that does not work , there may be something wrong with the Operative System.
